The story of Zen master and disciple
I heard a very interesting story about "the simplicity of nobody".
A Zen master and his disciples lived in a place where there was a bare clearing and no weeds. One day, the disciple said to the Zen master, Master, it's so ugly here. Can we plant some grass in the field? The Zen master agreed. After a few days, he gave his disciples some money to buy some grass seeds.
Disciples were sowing grass seeds in the field when suddenly a gust of wind came and some grass seeds were blown away by the wind. Disciple anxiously told the Zen master, Master, it's no good, the wind blew the grass seeds away! The Zen master said casually, it doesn't matter, the grass seeds blown away by the wind are hollow, it doesn't matter, whatever.
The next day, a group of birds went to the field to eat grass seeds. The apprentice saw it and said anxiously, Master, no, birds are eating grass seeds. But his master was still in no hurry, and told his disciples that it didn't matter. Birds can't eat all the grass seeds, and they always leave some. Please feel free.
It rained on the third day, and the rain washed away part of the soil, and the grass seeds were also washed away by the muddy water. The disciple went to see the master again, but the master still said unhurriedly, it doesn't matter, just follow the fate and rush wherever you go.
After a few days, a lot of grass grew in the field, and grass also grew in many places where grass seeds were not sown. The little monk was very happy to see the green land, and then the master told him to enjoy it.

Never strive for those who don't belong to you, appreciate you or support you.
Note that the first time Zen master said "let nature take its course", it was to conform to the nature of all things and let them choose freely. Whether you are a person, doing business, or making friends, you should be casual. That's what I do. I am always casual. My friends are free to come and go. I follow their temper and don't interfere or force them.
Never strive for those who don't belong to you, appreciate you or support you. No matter how hard you try, they won't be your friends, let alone your supporters.
Therefore, in the face of anyone, we should follow their nature, let them freely choose what they like, come and go, just like grass seeds in the wind. When the wind blows, try not to let the grass seeds be blown away. This is called persistence. Because even if you can keep one grass seed, you can't keep so many grass seeds; Even if you can keep these grass seeds for a while, you can't keep them for a lifetime. What should go will go eventually, so let nature take its course.
The second is casual. There are many kinds of people who meet us. Some need our help, some depend on our lives, and some don't want us to interfere with them. We should also follow their wishes in our attitude towards them. For example, don't interfere with those who don't want us to interfere, even if it's for the best. In other words, everything should be natural.
The third is fate, each of us is a "grass seed", which will be washed away by the running water of the years. For example, my hometown was in Gansu, and later I moved to Lingnan, and then I moved from Lingnan to Shandong. Wherever I go, I will follow karma. Where karma tells me to go, I will go and I will be happy there. A teacher once said to me, "I really admire you for learning ink." Your ability to live is so strong that you can survive anywhere. " I told him, this is not because I have a strong ability to live, but because I follow fate.
The fourth is to be happy. I will always be happy with everyone. For example, everyone wants me to explain my understanding of Tao Te Ching, and I also like everyone's pursuit of truth. So, although I am very busy and have a lot of manuscripts waiting for our school to correct, I will still make time to do it. This is not only an honor for everyone, but also a respect for everyone. However, I am not persistent. If you are happy without persistence, it is called inaction.
We should treat many things in life like a Zen master treats grass seeds, neither planting grass seeds nor clinging to them. We should be casual, casual, happy and naturally do nothing.
