First of all, it marks the rise of the third world and the awakening of Asian and African people. This is the first international conference in the history of the world in which Asian and African people solve their own problems without the domination of colonial countries, and it is an epoch-making event in the history of modern international relations.
Second, the Asian-African Conference has greatly promoted the new climax of the world national independence and national liberation movement since the 1960s.
Thirdly, Premier Zhou Enlai of China put forward the policy of "seeking common ground while reserving differences", which extended and developed the Five Principles of Peace and became the turning point of this meeting. The Bandung spirit of peaceful consultation, seeking common ground while reserving differences, independence, peace and friendly cooperation has become a weapon for the struggle of Asian and African people against imperialism, hegemonism, colonialism and racism and a norm to be followed in international relations.
