Lu is a female official in the Northern Qi Dynasty. She once worked as a waitress and was the nanny of Gao Wei, the queen of the Northern Qi Dynasty. After Gao Wei ascended the throne, Zhongshu became the county king. Lu was also the foster mother of Mu Huanghua, the third queen of Cushman & Wakefield, and was called "da ji" in the palace. The birth of Mutipo, a senior official in the Northern Qi Dynasty, had a great influence on the political situation and historical development of the Northern Qi Dynasty.
The TV series Legend of Lu Zhen (also known as Female Appearance) tells the legendary story of Lu Zhen, a female official in the Northern Qi Dynasty, but it is not a historical drama.
Lu Zhen was born in a family of officials and businessmen. Her mother died young. She was kind and smart since she was a child, and she was her father's right-hand man in business. So she was jealous by her stepmother and framed by her as the murderer who poisoned her father.
In order to avoid her stepmother's pursuit, she took the maid-in-waiting exam and fled to the palace. In the palace, Lu Zhen studied hard the techniques of porcelain burning and silk weaving, and was appreciated by Xiao Zhao for her intelligence, so she was promoted to a senior female official.
At the same time, before entering the court, Lu Zhen's perseverance and kindness touched the heart of Prince Gao Zhan (Chen Xiao). However, due to different status, this relationship is doomed to be bumpy. The jealousy of Shen Bi, the maid-in-waiting, the little hatred of her first lover, and the Queen Mother Lou, who had the enemy of killing her mother with the Prince, all conspired with Lu Zhen. In the end, with his courage and wisdom, Lu Zhen successfully helped defeat a series of conspiracy to usurp power of the Lou family, and helped him ascend to the throne.
However, due to mistakes, Lu Zhen and Gao Zhan lived together in name only until Gao Zhan died. Finally, Lu assisted the young emperor and became a female prime minister. In the play, Lu Zhen is played by Zhao, whose prototype is Lu, a female official in the Northern Qi Dynasty.
