The Historical Origin and Development of Tattoos
During the Ice Age before 8000 BC, many pottery bowls with traces of red and black pigments, some pointed bones [needles] made of antlers and other broken bones, and several figurines with strong tattoo hints were found in many caves around the world, including France, Portugal, Romania and Scandinavia.
With Columbus's discovery of America, European explorers recorded some novel experiences on this continent. They've seen red and blue tattoos from the Gulf of Mexico.
