Xiangyang, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, is the birthplace of China's famous historical and cultural city, Chu culture, Han culture and Three Kingdoms culture. It has a history of more than 2,800 years, and it has been an important economic and military place in all dynasties. Xiangyang city is located in the northwest of Hubei province, in the hinterland of the middle reaches of the Han River. Xiangyang is named because it is located in the sun of the ringing water, and the Hanshui River passes through the city, separating Xiangyang and Fancheng from the north and south sides and facing each other across the river. Both cities are important military and commercial centers in history. After 1949, the two cities merged into one, called Xiangfan city.
