Sailing from Jingmen Ferry, you will soon be traveling with southerners-thoughts on Jingzhou Ancient City.
I have been to Jingzhou many times because of business trip. But every time I go to Jingzhou, it is only a short stay, and I never have a chance to visit the ancient city of Jingzhou. This time, during the National Day holiday, I also took a day off and went to Jingzhou all the way. This time, I finally got a chance to have enough time to enjoy the ancient city of Jingzhou.

Jingzhou is a famous historical and cultural city, the old capital of Chu, and a famous city in the Three Kingdoms. Every time I go to Jingzhou, people who have seen the Romance of the Three Kingdoms probably have a heroic dream. The Three Kingdoms era is a heroic era. For thousands of years, Jingzhou, because of its superior geographical position, has been a battleground for military strategists because it reaches the Central Plains in the north, sixteen states, Nantong, Guangdong and Guangxi, Bashu in the west and Jiangnan in the east, occupying the golden waterway of the Yangtze River and sitting on the plains of two lakes.

With awe of the history of Jingzhou, I climbed the wall of the old south gate of Jingzhou, stepped on the heavy bluestone, and watched the wall still stand there after thousands of years of war and wind and rain. Although it can't speak, you can feel the heavy history from it. It tells the heroic stories of thousands of years, which will make you feel a sense of ceremony and tranquility and reduce your inner arrogance, anxiety and impetuousness.

Walking along the wall of the old south gate, you can appreciate all kinds of life in this city, including grandmothers who play chess together, old people who come to visit fortune-teller, and old people who sell simple handicrafts and food. This is a quiet and comfortable city, and it is also a vibrant economic center. Quiet and noisy are perfectly integrated.

In the morning, I went to the prestigious Jingzhou History Museum, which has the reputation of "Top Ten Museums" in China. The main collections are lacquerware, bamboo slips, silk, jade and stone tools. There are more than ten thousand pieces of lacquerware 1 in Chu, Qin and Han dynasties, which is the museum with the largest collection of ancient lacquerware in China. The number of bamboo slips in Chu, Qin and Han dynasties ranks first in China. Silk products in the Warring States period are famous at home and abroad for their early age, variety and well-preserved, and are praised by experts and scholars as the world's "silk treasure house". Besides, there are well-preserved ones.

In the afternoon, I sat alone on the bluestone slab of the moat, making myself empty, enjoying the tourists fishing, frolicking children, kites in the distance, birds in the sky and calm lake water, all of which are like a painting. After the National Day holiday, I asked a classmate in Yichang who had been to the ancient city of Jingzhou. I asked her what she thought, and she said so-so. I think most people who come to Jingzhou for its historical fame will feel ordinary. Perhaps China has a long history, and ancient cities with rich background and history are not uncommon in China. You know, some villages in Shandong and Shanxi have a history of thousands of years, but if you go to Japan to enjoy the ancient city, you can only go to Nara and Kyoto. If you go to Cambodia, you can only choose Angkor Wat, because it is the "only" of their nation. The ancient city of Jingzhou, maybe it can't give you too much visual impact, it just stands there quietly, maybe it can't satisfy the curiosity of tourists, and its beauty needs you to calm down and experience it slowly.

Looking at the ancient city wall that has stood for thousands of years and the fireworks beside the moat, I feel that I have a little experience, at least let me really calm down at that moment and reach a brief state of selflessness at that moment.
