I have never heard of the term you mentioned, but there is a kind of music collectively called undercurrent music. Gothic metal, black metal, death metal and even new wave punk were all produced through the undercurrent movement. From what I have heard, most of this music displays negative emotions and thoughts such as darkness, violence, and cruelty. But that doesn't mean they're harmful. Black metal is called the pinnacle of metal music, and the ideological connotation it expresses can be said to have risen to a philosophical level. Most of the early death metal gave people a kind of extreme sensory stimulation and had no connotation at all. However, the emergence of melodic death metal allowed death metal to intersect with some classical music and ethnic music, and it also developed into a unique form. Gothic revival was born out of punk, creating a dark atmosphere and possessing a dark beauty. Generally speaking, dark wave music exudes a dark charm. I personally appreciate it very much.
