Regional Environmental Noise Standards for Urban Areas of the People's Republic of China
1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard stipulates the maximum environmental noise limit for five types of urban areas.
This standard applies to urban areas. Rural living areas can refer to this standard.
2 Standard values
The standard values ??of urban environmental noise for Category 5 are as follows:
Category day and night
Category 0 50 decibels 40 decibels
Category 1 55 dB 45 dB
Category 2 60 dB 50 dB
Category 3 65 dB 55 dB
Category 4 70 dB 55 decibels
3 Applicable areas of various standards
(1) Category 0 standards are suitable for areas that particularly require quietness, such as health care areas, high-end villa areas, and high-end hotel areas. Areas located in suburban areas and rural areas are subject to stricter standards of 5 decibels than Category 0.
(2) Category 1 standards apply to areas dominated by residences and cultural and educational institutions. The rural living environment can refer to the implementation of such standards.
(3) Category 2 standards are applicable to mixed residential, commercial and industrial areas.
(4) Category 3 standards are applicable to industrial areas.
(5) Category 4 standards are applicable to areas on both sides of urban road traffic trunk roads and on both sides of inland waterways passing through urban areas. The background noise (referring to the noise level when no trains are passing through) limits on both sides of the main and secondary main lines of railways that pass through urban areas also comply with this type of standard.
4 Sudden noise at night
