Yantai University, a key comprehensive university in Shandong Province and a high-level university construction university in Shandong Province, was selected into the "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan" and "Excellent Engineers Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Yantai City, Shandong Province. Currently, Zhang Dianchen, secretary of the Party Committee, and Duan Peiyong, president of the school, have the motto of "keeping promise, being realistic, being eager to learn and practicing".

as of June 222, the school covers an area of 2,1 mu, with a building area of 1,19,8 square meters. The school was founded in July, 1984. It was directly aided by Peking University and Tsinghua University, and was founded by Yantai Weihai people. In March 21, with the approval of the Shandong provincial government, the former Shandong Building Materials Industry School and the former Shandong Fisheries School were merged into Yantai University. According to the ranking of universities in soft science, Yantai University ranked 214th in China in 223, and its strength should not be underestimated.
