"Looking at the Sea" is a song sung by mainland female artist Zhou Xun. Written by Mars Radio and composed by Mo Yanlin, it was included in Zhou Xun's album "Summer" released in April 2003. It is an episode of the 2003 TV series "The Beach". In March 2004, the song won the Top Ten Golden Songs of the 2003 Music Pioneer List and the Golden Song of the Year in the 11th China Song Ranking.

Creative background:

In the summer of 2001, Mo Yanlin wrote "Looking at the Sea" in Wuhan. This is the first complete work written by Mo Yanlin. In 2002, Mo Yanlin came to Beijing with five works. This work was sent to Warner, the vice president of Warner Music, and Song Ke chose it "Looking at the Sea", saying that this song was suitable for Zhou Xun to sing, and then "Looking at the Sea" was selected as the title song of Zhou Xun's album "Summer".

Halfway through the recording of the 2002 album "Summer", Zhou Xun fell in love with Li Yapeng and went to Hainan to film the TV series "The Beach" with Li Yapeng. The production team had to move to Hainan, and Zhou Xun filmed the movie at two o'clock and one line in the hotel every day. There was no recording studio and I found four or five mattresses on the walls of my hotel room. There was no windproof shot and street socks were bought on badminton rackets.

At first, the four members of the production team could not see the main song "Looking at the Sea" in the album, saying that it was a pop song and vulgar. Zhou Xun's attitude is very firm. Song Ke forced them to submit. A few months later, "Looking at the Sea" became really popular.
