The Beijing Wind Orchestra was founded in 2009. It is a large-scale professional symphony wind orchestra composed of people with profound musical accomplishments. Introduction to the conductor:
Li Fangfang is a national first-level conductor. He studied violin and cello since childhood, and studied conducting under Li Delun and Han Zhongjie. He graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Capital Normal University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree. In 1994, he went to study abroad at the New England Conservatory of Music in the United States and studied under the world-famous wind ensemble conductor Frank L Battisti. He became the first Chinese conductor to obtain a wind ensemble conductor diploma. In 2003, he graduated from the University of Arizona College of Music with a master's degree in conducting and was awarded an honorary lifetime member by Kappa Kappa Psi, the national wind and orchestra organization of the United States. He has collaborated with many orchestras in Europe, Asia, the United States and Australia. Its repertoire includes classic wind music works by Chinese and foreign composers from different periods from the 16th century to the 21st century. Committed to the research and dissemination of Western wind ensemble art and literature, he advocates the symphony of Chinese wind ensembles, the standardization of band training and the hierarchical creation of wind ensemble works. He is the author of "The Development and Important Documents of Western Wind Ensemble Art" and has recorded a variety of albums.
