China Red Song Festival

The 2012 "China Red Song Festival" championship, one of the most popular talent shows in mainland China, was staged in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on the evening of the 16th. A young man from the Dulong ethnic group from Nujiang, Yunnan Province Apsasa finally won the 2012 China Red Song Festival annual championship.

That night, the famous Chinese conductor Teng Yachu, the famous lyricist Yan Su, and the famous composer Wang Yougui formed the "troika" to sit on the jury of the 2012 China Red Song Festival. That night, 200 new fans from all over the country were added as public judges, who together with the main judges and 21 red song judges*** decided the 2012 China Red Song Club overall champion.

After several rounds of exciting competitions, Apsasa, a young man from the Dulong ethnic group from Nujiang, Yunnan Province, successfully "counterattacked" and won the overall championship of the 2012 China Red Song Club. The other two players Wang Fang and Wang Xinpeng won the runner-up and third place respectively.

The Dulong people are one of the ethnic minorities with a small population in China. They are distributed in the valley of the Dulong River Basin in Gongshan Dulong Nu Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, southwest China. As of 2012, there were approximately 7,400 people. And Apsasa is an authentic ethnic minority man from here.

On the road to the 2012 China Red Song Festival, Apsasa does not need any reason, just dreams of that beautiful music stage. In Apsasa's view, music is a ray of sunshine that shines into the heart, and red songs are also the most beautiful flowers that bloom in the world. You will never look back on the road of music.

After the game, Apsasa told a reporter from China News Service, "Although I have received this honor, I am particularly grateful to the people who have helped me, so that my efforts over the years have not been in vain." As the only professional musician of the Dulong ethnic group, he has the responsibility and obligation to carry forward the music culture of this nation, and he will continue along this path.

On December 30, 2012, Apsasa, who represented Jiangxi TV in the "China Red Song Festival" competition, won the third ticket to enter the Year of the Snake Spring Festival Gala in CCTV's "Direct Spring Festival Gala" and became the only Promoted folk singer contestant.

Open the door

In the three CCTV "Open the door" program broadcast on July 6, 2015, Ah from Evergrande Music Pusasa took the stage to support the second contestant, Meng Hesige from the Mongolian ethnic group in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and sang "Eighteen Bends on the Mountain Road" live.

A leap in the road of music

In 2007, Apsasa was selected by Yunnan Province to study at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music for one year.

Teacher Yang Xuejin from Yunnan was impressed by Apusasa's simplicity and personally took him to worship under the famous singer Chang Liuzhumen. In order to protect and inherit the national music of the Lisu and Dulong ethnic groups, Apusasa further studied in Shanghai. for a year.

The hard-earned two years of study made Apsasa's music career a qualitative leap forward. When inheriting his own ethnic songs, he began to try to integrate ethnic singing methods with modern scientific singing methods. While allowing countless audiences to appreciate the charm of ethnic minority traditional music, he also reaped rewards: in November 2010, he won the gold medal in the first Yunnan Local Song Competition.

After winning the Red Song Club championship, Apsasa said frankly, "It is with the help and support of so many people that I can get to where I am today. I thank everyone!" Know how to be grateful and calm down. I believe this is an important reason for Apsasa to win the top spot in 2012.

Inheriting national music

It is understood that Apsasa means "boss" in Chinese, and Sasa means "the best" among the Dulong people. Apsasa requires not only courage, but also shouldering the inheritance and responsibility of the music culture of these two ethnic minorities. This big boy who is shy when meeting strangers is completely different from the other two as soon as he shows his singing voice. His expressive, free and natural singing and his mellow, clear, and richly layered timbre have conquered the audience many times. Previously, Apsasa successfully won the bronze medal in the 4th Yunnan Province Young Singer Competition with the song "Sacrifice to the Mountain God to Celebrate the Harvest".

Compared to the erratic life trajectories of most people, Apsasa’s road to fame is no accident. With his sensitivity and passionate love for music, he has determined his ambition to engage in music since he was a child. As the only professional musician of the Dulong ethnic group, Apsasa shoulders the responsibility and obligation to carry forward the music culture of this nation on the stage of the Red Song Festival. On the red song stage, Apsusa, like his name, showed himself to the world as the "best" among the Dulong people, performing his legend.

Apsasa told reporters, “The Lisu father is also a good singer. Although he has not received professional training, he is proficient in playing, playing and singing. In particular, some Lisu instruments only need to be mastered by his father. As soon as you play with your hands, sounds of various emotions will flow out. "Apsasa has admired his father since he was a child. They often use songs to speak for themselves and answer questions in their daily lives, thus forming a tradition of liking folk songs. Under the influence of this harmonious Lisu family, Apsasa was able to sing freely when he was inspired by the scene.

Culture

In the world of music, Apsasa’s journey has not been easy. In the 4th Yunnan Province Young Singer Competition, in order to provide accompaniment for his newly composed music, he had to ask for help from his family for thousands of yuan. Young people in the city have long stopped being obsessed with guitar or piano, because it is indeed a career with no future, and becoming a master is harder than winning the lottery. Apsasa seemed to give people a glimmer of hope. He used his meager income to stick to his music dream and spent a lot of time composing new songs; the newly composed song "Sacrifice to the Mountain God to Celebrate the Harvest" on the cabinet, the lyrics are all translated into the best Pigs, cattle, sheep, horses, mountains and rainwater that are close to nature...

He still remembers the first time he accompanied his mother back to Dulongjiang in 1999. There were no roads at that time, so he followed with dozens of kilograms of gifts on his back. Behind my mother, I happily set off to my grandma’s house. It was a small closed village adjacent to Myanmar, and the mother who married outside was treated like a princess returning to the province.

After drinking and eating, the whole village began to listen to the songs and dance. The drunk grandmother held Apusasa’s hand and sang the whole night. Because of her shy mother, this was the first time for Apusasa. After hearing such beautiful Dulong music, he described his grandmother's singing as "the sound of nature". This scene has now become Apsasa's most regretful thing, because at that time he had not systematically studied music and did not know how to deliberately record his grandmother's inspired works.

Apsasa believes that the closed and conservative Dulong people are truly the darlings of nature. They have their own original language, music, dance, and even religion.

Today’s popular falsetto singing and uncoordinated superficial music are no longer the true nature of music. The Dulong people are closer to the gods due to their long-term isolation. They are better able to understand the melody and harmony of nature. For them, music is one of the most effective ways to communicate emotions with the sky.

However, for the thousands of Dulong people among the more than one billion people in the country, their culture will be destroyed by the current era sooner or later. How to protect and inherit the unique national music culture of the Dulong people? Standing in front of Apsasa, the only professional musician of the Dulong ethnic group, the 25-year-old and his title of secretary-general of the Nujiang Prefecture Music Association seem a bit incongruous, but this reputation is actually more of a responsibility, and this responsibility Will uphold the strength of his life and let him sing forward.

Appearance in the Spring Festival Gala

After embarking on the road of "Direct to the Spring Festival Gala", Apsasa appeared on the stage of the 2013 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, with Ping An and Xu Yina. The 23rd program "Direct to the Spring Festival Gala" medley. Apsasa was the first to appear, singing a song "Eighteen Bends on the Mountain Road". The song was sonorous, powerful and soul-stirring. He and Xu Yena harmonized for the third appearance of Ping An, and together they sang the patriotic song "I Love You China". 》.

Lecture at the National Library

On July 12, 2015, Apsasa gave a lecture on the theme of "Exploration and Development of Lisu Music" at the Wenjin Collection of the National Library Public lectures.

At the event, Apsasa used videos and texts to showcase the natural features and unique minority culture of his hometown Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. Apsasa said that his father is from the Lisu ethnic group and his mother is from the Dulong ethnic group, so he has been immersed in the unique music of ethnic minorities since he was a child. Later, when he started working in the music industry, he would also conduct on-the-spot collection and music compilation in various parts of Yunnan all year round, because he realized that the music left by his ancestors through their lives is the most precious spiritual wealth, and it is also what young people today lack most. He wants to bring these unique things to everyone through his continuous learning, collection, organization, creation and singing.

Afterwards, Apsasa introduced the origin of Dulong music, explained to the audience the singing and appreciation methods of folk songs from the perspective of ethnic minority singers, and demonstrated the production of Lisu four-stringed instruments and flutes on the spot. Play. The audience applauded Apsasa's performance and shouted, "If you can't get enough of it, let's do it again!"

On that day, guests from all walks of life including music, culture, and ethnic groups came to the scene to participate in exchanges and discussions. . Including Ou Guangming, Director of the Chinese Editorial Office of the National Ethnic Publishing House and Executive Deputy Director of the China Lisu Studies Professional Committee, Liu Xiujun, the former Minister of Munitions Department of the Air Force Logistics Department, the famous composer Lu Cheng, the leader of the Chinese music charts Heli, the famous Avenue of Stars and CCTV Spring Festival Gala Singer Zhou Lizhen, Yunnan's original music group "Mugeipa" group, and young tenor Tao Jianacheng of the Central Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe, etc. Everyone fully recognized Apsasa’s efforts in promoting national music and expressed their strong support. At the end of the lecture, Zhou Lizhen and Mugepa, who are also ethnic singers, took the stage and sang and danced with Apsasa, singing ethnic songs, presenting a harmonious scene of "one ethnic family".
