The names of Fangzhuang's residential communities are very distinctive, that is, their names all have the character "Fang". The four largest communities are called Fanggu Garden, Fangcheng Garden, Fangqun Garden, and Fangxing. Garden, the middle names of these four communities are linked together to form "Old City Stars", which means the new bright spots in ancient Beijing. Other communities include Qunxingyuan and Zifangyuan.

Fangzhuang has a famous food street, Pufang Road. There are many restaurants on both sides of Pufang Road, such as Quanjude, Jinshan City, Xiaodudou, Duyichu, Jindingxuan, KFC (3), and McDonald's , Pizza Hut, Good Lunge, Golden Hans, Daqinghua, Haidilao, Old Xi'an Restaurant, Halla Mountain Barbecue, etc. And new restaurants have been entering Fangzhuang in recent years.

There are three shopping malls in Fangzhuang, namely Carrefour, Wumart Hypermarket, and Fangzhuang Shopping Center (Fangzhuang Guiyou closed on March 3, 2013).

Fangzhuang has mature medical, educational and sports facilities. Due to early construction and neat planning, Fangzhuang has become a very suitable humanistic community for living.

In addition, the High School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music, known as "Asia's No. 1 Music School", is also located here.

Fangzhuang is still under development and construction. On the east side of the original area, Fangzhuang New District is under construction, and new high-end residential communities such as Fanglin Garden, Morning Fangzhuang, and Times Zifang have been built.
