When I arrived at Kaiyuan Temple, I took my father through the Kaiyuan Temple Square and soon saw an ancient temple located to the west of the New Kaiyuan Temple. This is the Ancient Kaiyuan Temple we are going to.

As I approached the entrance of the ancient temple, I saw a wooden plaque hanging directly above it, which was the four characters of Gu Kaiyuan Temple. Unfortunately, the door is locked. It turns out that due to the epidemic, the temple is not open! We can only walk around outside the temple. We walked around the temple wall, walked through the east gate of the temple, crossed Kaiyuan Square, and continued walking east. At this time, we saw a dark iron fence surrounding a large mound. I looked at the mound in surprise and asked Dad What's this. At this time, I saw a stone slab next to the fence with the ancient city wall of Xingtai engraved on it. It turned out to be the legendary restored ancient city wall of Xingtai from the Western Zhou Dynasty! I happily walked around the city wall several times, feeling the atmosphere of history and being pleasantly surprised by our unexpected discoveries.

Kaiyuan Temple was not visited successfully, but we also had something unexpected. Xingtai is really a place with a long history. You can see these historical relics everywhere and encounter historical surprises everywhere. I love my hometown even more!
