"Perfect"
Sunny puts quite a bit of emotion into this song. In the minimal arrangement, the full and laid-out electronic tone runs through the guitar that effectively guides the emotional transition, which appropriately sets off Sunny's vocal expression. Shanni's lyrics delicately interpret the voice of a woman who is addicted to lies and the appearance of perfect love. The sentence "If you love me, please tell me, tell a perfect lie to move me" breaks the illusion of perfect love. But it still makes people intoxicated. The whole song has a bright rhythm but is sad, contradictoryly blending into complex emotions.
"Hallucination"
The "hallucination" of this narrative style seems to have its own people, its scenery, its events, and is full of imagination. The soft electronic timbre creates a psychedelic musical atmosphere. Shani's sad interpretation goes from listening to playing to being low-key and calm. The emotion of listening is extremely exciting and intense. "Let me continue to love you, don't wake up from this moment of illusion, don't wake up." Indulging in the love utopia constructed by Shanni's delicate words, I really hope that all this is not just an illusion. The entire song is led by Shanni's deliberately concise words, laying out a strong emotional transition process. From a little desolate, moved by happiness, to the extreme loneliness of ENDING. Regarding love, it turns out that everything is just a short-term illusion after all?
"What are you worried about, dear"
In all Shanni's albums, except for one poem "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by poet Xia Yu, Shanni Handled all the lyrics and music. Therefore, it is very curious to hear a cover song by Xue Yue in this album.
In fact, Xue Yue has always been Shanni's favorite singer. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Xue Yue's death, so Shanni commemorated it by reinterpreting one of Xue Yue's songs. The song Shanni chose was not Xue Yue's most familiar song, but "What Are You Worrying About? My Dear" by Xue Yue, Han Xianguang and Xia Yu. Shanni said that it was very difficult to adapt this song. Xue Yue's original version was Blues, and Shanni Chen's version of "What Are You Worrying About? Honey" was arranged by Hong Kong electronic music group minimal and Taiwanese band Bone Skin guitarist Xu Qianxiu , adding electronic elements to this song, coupled with Xu Qianxiu's heart-wrenching guitar, has a faint sense of sadness and a bit more feminine delicacy. Shanni, who is constantly trying to find new ideas, also added a verse from the poet Xia Yu in this song. This dialogue was excerpted by Shanni from Xia Yu's poetry collection. At first glance, it seems to have nothing to do with the original lyrics, but the unanswerable questions about love in the poems actually vaguely echo the lyrics.
