Oriental dance studio refers to a studio that mainly teaches Oriental dance.

1.1 In your teacher’s Oriental dance studio

Every dancer will have one or even more masters. At first, he will probably learn in his own master’s studio. Teaching assistant, or professional teacher. So in such a scenario, you should pay attention to the following two points:

1. Try to have your own master come up with lesson plans, and teach according to the master's lesson plans yourself.

2. If the teacher is too busy, you can write the lesson plan yourself, but you must let the teacher review it and ask for some feedback for improvement.

As the saying goes, the disciple of the church starves the master. The purpose of this is to ensure information transparency with the master. To ensure a good master-apprentice relationship, full communication must be done. Never do something secretly without telling the master. This is against professional ethics and will even undermine the professional ethics of the master. The relationship between master and disciple. In the master's studio, you must not steal the spotlight from the master, because everyone is a woman, and women are naturally very jealous. Even if they are their own apprentices, they will see that the members of their own studio prefer to attend the apprentice's class. , whether it is out of jealousy or threats, it will make the master secretly unhappy, and over time, the master-disciple relationship will also deteriorate. Therefore, as an apprentice, once you find that the members are more inclined to you, you should either give feedback to the master to improve the master's courses, or it is time to leave.

Although in the beginning everyone was kind, happy, and united. Once there is a conflict of interests, disagreements and frictions will inevitably occur. Therefore, efforts should be made to maintain mutual trust and mutual respect, so that the relationship can last longer.

1.2 In your own Oriental dance studio

If it is your own studio, you don’t need to pay attention to so many communication things. You just need to work hard to choreograph. Arrange classes to make them humorous and interesting, so that students can learn things quickly, and students will naturally stay.

A comprehensive dance studio is a comprehensive studio that teaches a variety of dances, such as modern, classical, oriental dance, children's dance, etc. If Oriental dance is a special class in such a place, it means it is very important and you should treat it as if you were teaching in your own studio.

If it is just an ordinary class, it means that the class may not be important, the members' abilities are relatively elementary, or they are just here for fun. For ordinary classes, you need to teach more carefully. For these people, if you make them realize the fun of Oriental dance, or make these students fall in love with you, they may become your potential members in the future. But be sure not to promote or poach people in class, as this will make members more likely to resent you. You just need to use your charm to make students fall in love with you, and students will find you when they want to learn Oriental dance in the future.

The membership of dance studios is relatively stable. Generally, there are about two to three hundred people in a studio. Dance studios generally have a small size of 40 square meters and a large one of 70 square meters. The ideal exercise space for one person is 4 square meters, so the number of people in a class is 10-15. There's a good chance you'll meet all members within a few months. These members have high stability and good dance foundation. They learn more about dance skills and dance itself. So the dance can be a little harder and more technical when choreographed. When teaching finished dances in the studio, it is best to teach the entire dance in 4 classes a month.

The membership of the gym is highly mobile, with the general number of members being around 2,000. The small classroom area is 80 square meters, and the large classroom area is 150 square meters. The number of people in each class is 20-30. Most of the members of the gym go to class just to have fun. When they see someone dancing, they come in because the gym has so many fitness methods to choose from.

There is a high turnover of members here, and the probability of new members joining each class is very high, so it is not suitable for teaching difficult techniques or dances, which can easily frustrate new members. The length of the music should not exceed 3 minutes. A music that is too long will make people feel that it will never end, because half of the participants may be new every time, and it may take 2 months to teach a finished dance.

Be careful not to review the sections learned in the previous lesson during the first class. This will frustrate new members, and they may even choose to leave the classroom to do other fitness equipment.

How to judge whether my choreography is difficult or easy?

Given a set of movements, can you make it harder or even harder without changing the basic movements? If you can, then this set of movements is of moderate to low difficulty. If it couldn't be harder, it's on Advanced difficulty. If it can't get easier, it's beginner difficulty.

Gradually increase the difficulty

When an action is completed by one part of the body, it is very elementary. You can increase the difficulty of this movement by speeding up. You can also increase the difficulty by adding another part of the exercise. When more parts are added, the difficulty becomes theoretically greater, but the difficulty does not increase linearly. If the sequence of movements of different parts is disrupted, or even one part is generally moved so that the movements are no longer coherent, separation and combination of movements will occur. The more parts there are, the more chaotic and irregular they are, and the higher the degree of separation, the more nerve-wracking it is. But deliberate practice of separation will make the body more flexible and responsive.

Pyramid teaching method

Start with a single simple movement and lead the students to do four 8-counts. After the students are familiar with it, they can superimpose another movement on the basis of this movement. 2. Repeat actions 1 and 2 for 8 times of 8 beats until the student is familiar with them. Then superimpose action 3, repeat 1, 2, and 3, so that after 10 minutes, a simple action combination will come out. The students learn a set of movements step by step, and everyone is happy.

How to deal with students

Be good at praising students, because everyone likes to be praised. Of course, if students do not do well, they will be scolded and even scolded to death. When students make progress, praise them to death. With comparison, students can progress faster.

If a student misses one or two finished dance classes and comes to ask you how to make up for them, you can first reinforce to her the importance of continuous classes in the future, and secondly, you can also sell private lessons. Give it to her. Through private lessons, I can not only teach her the missed movements individually, but also give her detailed movements. After that, she can use the finished dance as a performance dance at their annual meeting, killing two birds with one stone.

If you encounter a more cunning and arrogant student, you must maintain your own stance and aura. Although the student is a sponsor and a customer, mutual respect is also a prerequisite. If the other party repeatedly makes unreasonable demands, for example, if you want to learn a If the difficulty level of the dance is not suitable for her, the class content must be changed, etc. At this time, you must stick to your position and tell them that the teacher will teach them the best and most suitable for them. If they don't understand, they can explain and enlighten them, but they cannot compromise. Your position is always that of their teacher, preaching lessons and solving doubts, not their waiter.
