Mainland high school students apply for undergraduate programs in private colleges on Taiwan’s main island and public colleges on outer islands through the website of the Mainland Joint Admissions Committee (referred to as the Mainland Joint Admissions Committee) (from 2011 to 2013, undergraduate programs in public schools on Taiwan’s main island are not yet open for admission. For mainland students to study, public universities will be open to enroll mainland undergraduates starting from 2014. In principle, each school has 5 enrollment quotas. Hubei and Liaoning (newly added in 2016), and those with college entrance examination scores of at least two books are eligible for admission.
