How to guide large class music regional activities

The development of music activity corners has its own characteristics for each age group. We have made some attempts to create and guide music activity corners based on the age characteristics of children in the upper class and combined with their existing music levels. We also fully exploited various resources and worked hard to develop the music activity corner of my class in a distinctive, creative and effective way.

1. Creation of Music Activity Corner

●Selection of venue for music activity corner. We arranged the music activity corner in the classroom near the window, piano, TV, and tape recorder, occupying a relatively loose side of the entire class activity area. This arrangement mainly takes into account that children can use televisions, tape recorders and other equipment at close range to meet the diverse needs of children. Before and after the activity, children can appreciate, feel, understand, learn from, and arrange some of their favorite finished song and dance performances, so that children can turn on and off televisions, tape recorders and other equipment by themselves. Teachers can also observe children's improvisation and on-the-spot performance at any time when using the piano to accompany them, so as to facilitate timely intervention and guidance. The relatively loose space allows children to freely display the range of movements and changes in formation. In addition, you can open the windows during activities to reduce the volume and avoid interference with other quieter games.

●Creation of music activity corner environment. Creating a good artistic atmosphere and building a stage that is in line with childishness can stimulate children's desire for expression. We used lake blue crepe paper to form three curved and three-dimensional waves on the top of the small stage. On both sides facing the audience, we used blue and green gauze to make pleated curtains, embellished with them. Wearing a sparkling silver beard. There is a red mark of "123 Small Stage" on the top of the curtain, and the colors are perfectly matched. In addition, there are small L-shaped chairs lined up on both sides of the periphery of the small stage. The backs of the chairs are softly wrapped with white cloth. The soft bags are marked with seat numbers to facilitate the audience to take their seats. There are small red and gold stickers on the ground of the small stage as formation stations. We have also prepared colorful plastic floor mats that can be freely combined to meet the needs of children in various postures such as kneeling, lying on their backs, lowering their waists, etc. to protect their safety.

●Utilization of music activity corner resources. The first is to make full use of the own resources of children in large classes. For example: let children make various props and accessories, use the results of children's art activities to decorate the small stage, ask children to make and number the program for the small stage, etc.: The second is to make full use of parent resources. For example: parents are invited to put forward their own ideas and suggestions on the props, costumes and some decorations for the performance, and parents with expertise are invited to participate in designing the stage or making props, etc. The third is to make full use of various audio-visual equipment. For example: use a digital camera to capture some wonderful moments of children's activities, and then let the children appreciate and learn the rich expressions and graceful dances of their peers, continue to accumulate experience, and expand their ideas.

2. Guidance on the Music Activity Corner

●Selection of content. The selection of the content of the music activity corner should respect the needs of children, listen more to children's opinions, and be determined through communication and interaction between teachers and children. According to the interests and needs of children, we initially selected the following content: 1. Children's songs and dances. It is generally a review and extension of songs, dances, music games, and group dances in music teaching activities. 2. Interludes from cartoons such as "White Dragon Horse", "Qiaohu", "Pleasant Goat and Gray Taro", which are popular among young children. 3. Adapted and applied popular songs such as "Wash" and "Three Bears". 4. Classic fairy tales such as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Little Red Riding Hood" and "The Ugly Duckling". 5. Dance performances with national characteristics such as "Jasmine Flower" and "Xinjiang Dance". 6. Children’s personal talent display.

●Teacher’s intervention. During the activity, we found that some children were unclear about the purpose of music games and had no sense of task. They knocked on instruments and danced with ribbons. The game became a "sheep herding" type of play. This requires our support, guidance and timely intervention. For example, during the rehearsal of the fairy tale "Snow White", children appeared to compete for roles. Everyone likes to play the role of the kind-hearted Snow White, and no one wants to be the evil queen. To this end, we guide children to negotiate solutions. Young children solved this problem through a bidding scheme of voluntary registration, judges' scoring, comments and audience voting.

●Multiple interactions. At first, the staff of the Music Corner was relatively stable. After a week, we will gradually add new people, and the original team will decide whether to stay or stay according to their own wishes. When the entire music corner is more mature, we invite small performance teams to perform tours, perform in middle classes, small classes, and day care classes, interact with parallel classes, learn from each other's strengths, and improve together. In addition, at the end of the performance, the actors and the audience can interact, solicit opinions and suggestions from the audience, and continuously improve the performance level. Actors can also use their breaks to go to other corners of the class for activities. For example: you can go to a doll's house as a guest, go to the supermarket to buy drinks, go to the hospital to see a doctor, go to the bank, etc. You can also invite friends from other areas to come to the music corner to be small audiences. This makes the regional games in the class interactive, allowing children to fully experience the joy of interactive games.
