The Roland AE20 thumb cross wheel has been changed to an up and down lever, and two optional thumb sleeves have been added. Bluetooth can be used for reception, but not transmission. There is no midi port like the AE30, and the workmanship looks much better than the AE10, similar to the AE30. The settings screen has Chinese characters and a volume adjustment knob. The sounds (now called ‘Scenes’) include Roland’s ‘Supernatural Sounds’, as well as synthesizer sounds (ZEN Core). You can download scenes from the ‘Roland Cloud’ and adjust the scenes using a Bluetooth-connected app.
