Introduction to Zhao Jiping’s creative honors:

In 1970, he was assigned to work at the Shaanxi Opera Research Institute. In 1978, he entered the Central Conservatory of Music for further studies. In 1979, he created the orchestral piece "Sketches of Southern Shaanxi". In 1984, he composed the music for "Yellow Earth", the first film directed by Chen Kaige, and began to create film and television music. In 1987, the film music composed for "Red Sorghum" won the Best Music Award at the 8th China Film Golden Rooster Awards.

In 1991, he served as the director of Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater. In 1995, he participated in the Second International Film and Music Festival as an Asian representative; in the same year, he served as the soundtrack for the "Westward Journey" series of films directed by Liu Zhenwei. In 1996, he won the Best Music Award at the 16th China TV Drama Feitian Awards for his soundtrack to the costume drama "Water Margin".

In 2000, the symphony works "Sunbird" and "Farewell My Concubine" composed by him were performed at the Berlin Forest Concert; in the same year, the film and television soundtrack "Sister-in-law" composed by him won the 18th China TV Golden Eagle Award for Best Music.
