robert schumann (181-1856) Robert Schumann
German composer and music critic. Born on June 8, 181 in a small town near Leipzig, Zwickau studied piano since childhood and began to compose music at the age of 7. At the age of 16, he entered Leipzig University to study law. At the age of 19, he studied piano again. Paganini's performance had a great influence on him, which made him give up law study and specialize in music. Later, due to a finger injury, he turned to composition and music criticism. From 1835 to 1844, he founded Die Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, which played an important role in changing the stale music atmosphere at that time and promoting the development of romantic art. At the same time, he began to create a large number of piano works. In 184, he received a Ph.D. from the University of Jena. In 1843, he went to the Leipzig Conservatory of Music to teach. From 1844 to 185, he moved to Dresden and continued to compose and conduct. Post-mental illness became more and more serious. In 1854, he was rescued by throwing himself into the river, and died in the Mental Hospital on July 29th, 1856.
Schumann is the most prominent figure in the history of German music in the first half of 19th century. He can't find his ideal from real life, so he has to indulge in his own fantasy dreams. His works are mainly based on his inner feelings and psychological changes, focusing on lyricism. Although I often try profound and dramatic and heroic works, due to the contradiction between my heart and real life, this effort has never been successful.
Schumann is one of the representatives in the mature period of romantic music. After Schubert, he developed the romantic piano music style and song creation tradition, which further enriched the expression methods of piano accompaniment. He often composes a suite of several songs, takes the poems of romantic poets as lyrics, and pays attention to the inner artistic conception of poems, so he enjoys the title of "poet musician" As a music critic, he enthusiastically praised Bach and Beethoven, and also called for the discovery of new forces. It was because of his strong recommendation that a large number of young musicians stood out, including Mendelssohn, Chopin, Wagner, Brahms, Berlioz and Liszt, which included almost all young musicians in Europe at that time and played an important role in promoting romantic music.
Schumann's major works include piano music Butterfly, Carnival, Childhood Scenes, etc., vocal suite Love and Life of Women, Poet's Love, artistic songs Moonlight, Dedication, Walnut Tree, etc.

My father, august schumann, was a smart bookseller with profound literary attainments, which greatly influenced Schumann's later literary attainments. Johanna schumann is a romantic woman. Schumann's warm and sensitive personality inherited from his mother can be said to be the gene of his spiritual development after adulthood.
in p>1817, Shu Manchu studied piano with gottfried kuntzsch, and at this time, he showed his talent of improvisation. In 1819, after enjoying the performance of moschles, he was supported by his father and determined to become a pianist. Since then, he has made unremitting efforts.
in p>1826, my father died suddenly. In March 1828, Schumann went to Leipzig to study law at the request of his mother. This decision made Schumann feel painful.
Schumann's musical career
(Schumann Monument)
In May p>1829, Schumann went to Heidelberg to follow thibaut, a law professor. As Tibao is an enthusiastic amateur musician, he immediately encouraged Schumann to continue his development in music after he understood his talent in music.
a year later, Schumann decided to give up the law. Under the persuasion and assurance of the piano teacher friedrich wieck (1785~1873 a.d), Schumann's mother finally agreed. So Schumann returned to Leipzig to study piano and composition with Wei Ke. Progress is very rapid. It was in this year that Schumann finished the first half of the second work of Butterfly. He began his strange romance and short career as a composer.
in July p>1856, Schumann died in a deep sleep at the age of 46.
