Fang Wenshan’s recent Chinese-style song "Passenger from the End of the World" written for Jay Chou is like this. The strings are broken, the fate is over, and you are gone. The story of the ups and downs of love and hate only leaves me with a few sorrows about the world. I have entered the wine and asked you if your heart is not there. There are many words missing, such as worldly affairs, separation and sorrow, as if seeing numbness can no longer play the role of emotional response. I'm not saying that Fang Wenshan's quality has declined. On the contrary, after years of experience and polishing, his Chinese-style lyrics have reached a very stable level. But, for me, the initial feeling of surprise is gone. For another example, take the famous saying from Lu Xun's "Autumn Night": In my back garden, you can see two trees outside the wall, one is a jujube tree, and the other is also a jujube tree. What do you feel? The seemingly nonsense sentences, when you read them carefully, you suddenly feel a sense of helpless loneliness and confusion. We all understand that going too far is not equal, but most of the time it is difficult for us to grasp the balance between "over" and "under". But first of all, what I want to say is, how to judge whether the attainment of this poem is high or not is a matter of opinion. I only represent my personal opinion - I personally feel that ancient style does not mean that a large number of quotations of ancient words can make it appear advanced. A lyric may remind you of the past, may make you feel a moment of empathy, or touch a suddenly sensitive nerve in you. This is the success of the lyrics. However, for the sake of sensationalism, it will make people feel embarrassed. After reading the lyrics several times, I just feel that there are a lot of allusions and quotations from poems, and the aura of what I want to express and the expression of emotions are lost, which makes people feel Deliberateness and contrivance did not arouse much anger in me. It may also be that I am not in the right mood at the moment and cannot feel what it is trying to express. But I don’t deny that its words and rhymes are exquisite. The person who wrote the lyrics will definitely not be able to write it without a certain accumulation of poetry. But, emotionally, I didn't feel the emotion that the lyrics should have. Just having content is like a human being who is a robot without a soul. Is the robot powerful? Of course it is powerful, but it is not a human at all. However, none of the above is helpful, everyone is different. As long as it touches you at a certain moment, then it has realized its value. It doesn’t matter if it has high attainments or not, what I like is good, no matter what others say.
