Imperial examination is an ancient system for selecting officials, which has strict standardized operation. However, in the history of 1300, many shocking things happened.

1795, the imperial court held an examination during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Wang Tan, a juren from Jiaxing, Zhejiang, rushed to Beijing to take the exam.

Wang Tan, 1760, was born in Xiushui (now Jiaxing, Zhejiang).

Wang Tan is a student of Yuan Mei, an old man from Suiyuan. As the saying goes, a great teacher makes a great apprentice, and Wang Tan writes great poems. He also published a collection of poems, Lost Poems of Wanxia Wangulou and Collection of Wanxia Wangulou. Some people say that Wang Tan's poems are "brilliant enough to surpass the heroes in the world". But Wang Tan's article doesn't seem so good. "The water of the Yellow River flows for a thousand miles, with mud and sand."

Wang Tan loves to make friends. He also wrote, "The anger of Kyushu depends on the wind and thunder, and the sorrow of reading is also." I advise god to be more energetic and not stick to one pattern to drop talents. "Gong Zizhen, a poet in the late Qing Dynasty, made an unforgettable friend-Wang Tan is 32 years older than Gong Zizhen. They often sing poems and have fun together, pointing out the maze and inspiring words. At that time, the soil was Wan Huhou.

Wang Tan was poor in his later years. After his death, his family couldn't even afford a coffin, but Gong Zizhen took out money and buried it at the foot of Huqiu Mountain in Suzhou. Gong Zizhen personally wrote the epitaph "Wang Zhongqu Epitaph" for him.

These are another story, not to mention for the time being. Wang Tan came to Beijing to take the exam and did a famous thing, which alarmed Emperor Qianlong.

The examination was held in Gong Yuan, the inner city of Beijing, and was presided over by the Ministry of Ritual, which was divided into three times. When Wang Tan took the exam, he was full of ideas, put pen to paper, and quickly finished the examination paper. Wang Tan may feel that the answer is too smooth and happy, so he can't help expressing it on the spot.

After answering the questions in the third exam, Wang Tan suddenly stood up, tied a stance in his single room, and played a set of palm tricks in a flowing way. Besides studying, Wang Tan also practices martial arts. I saw the clouds in the single room, the tables and stools crackled, and the paper was blown around by the wind.

When the invigilator heard the movement, he came over and looked at it, stunned. It is estimated that the invigilator is also the first time to see wonderful candidates playing boxing in the examination room and ask, "What the hell are you?"

After boxing, Wang Tan received the work, stood up and replied respectfully: "This is a slap in the face!" "

The exam is over. The invigilator reported to Emperor Qianlong about Wang Tan's boxing in the examination room. Emperor Qianlong flew into a rage. During that time, Emperor Qianlong was being overwhelmed by the White Lotus Sect of "spreading beans into soldiers", but there was a "palm thunder" at the foot of the Emperor! Does this make Emperor Qianlong angry?

Emperor Qianlong immediately ordered Wang Tan's qualification to take the exam to be revoked on the grounds of "misleading leftists" and prohibited him from taking the exam again. This means that Wang Tan was permanently banned by Emperor Qianlong. Wang Tan never dreamed that his bright future would fall on this set of "palm thunder".

Wang Tan is unwilling to live forever and is isolated from officialdom. After the death of Emperor Qianlong, Emperor Jiaqing came to power. With a new emperor, maybe you can make a comeback? Wang Tan found Wu, who served as the left capital of Douchayuan, and asked him to recommend himself to the court, hoping to get an official position.

Unexpectedly, Emperor Jiaqing also heard about Wang Tan's "glorious deeds". After receiving Wu's recommendation, he only said two words: "birthday!" " Emperor Jiaqing permanently banned Wang Tan's dream of officialdom and removed Wu from his post.

Why does Wu recommend Wang Tan? There is a saying that Wu is an accomplice. Seeing that Emperor Jiaqing severely cracked down on small Shenyang, he was worried that he would be implicated, so he simply took office with slight responsibility.

After being repeatedly attacked, Wang Tan's behavior and words became more bohemian and pretentious. He and his wife live near Qiujing Bridge near Zong Yi on the outskirts of Jiaxing. Wang Tan wrote a couplet: "The wife is too clever and the husband is too strange, so there are many ghosts."

Later, Wang Tan's wife died of illness, and his life became more lonely. 18 17. Wang Tan died in Suzhou at the age of 57.
