Zhu Bingjun, Pioneer of Conghua Education
Dragon ball god

In Conghua education, the most impressive and moving doyen may be the old director Zhu Bingjun. When I was at school, I often heard my teachers and sisters talk about his deeds. He took the lead in establishing this school, which fundamentally changed the educational situation in Conghua and laid a solid foundation for popularizing nine-year compulsory education. In the school history of many primary and secondary schools in Conghua, there are his figures and stories.

Conghua is a mountainous area. Education has been very backward since ancient times, and illiteracy accounts for the vast majority of the population. It was not until 1907 that the first primary school was established in Conghua. Prior to this, education in Conghua was mainly private schools. During the Republic of China, several primary schools and middle schools were established one after another. Because of the unstable situation, most teenagers still have no chance to go to school.

? After liberation, the party and the government attached great importance to education and sent some demobilized soldiers to various places to participate in the school building work. Zhu Bingjun is one of them. He was sent to Menkoujiang Primary School as the principal.

1959 1 On August 8th, Premier Zhou Enlai inspected Menkoujiang Primary School. The earliest report in this respect can be found in Conghua Daily on 1 month 15 of that year. In this report, I didn't mention President Zhu. Yang Shufen, director of the guidance office, presided over the reception from beginning to end. I find it strange that Zhu Bingjun, as the principal of Menkoujiang Primary School at that time, did not report it. I have read many articles recalled afterwards, all of which said that Premier Zhou met President Zhu at Menkoujiang Primary School and called him the factory director, proposing to change Menkoujiang Primary School into Liuxi Primary School. I have also heard that teachers such as Mo Lizhong, who once taught at Menkoujiang Primary School, said that President Zhu was indeed at school that day. The fact is that when Premier Zhou visited Menkoujiang Primary School, there was no arrangement in advance, and the school did not receive the relevant instructions from the superior. He had planned to visit the old town of the city and the nearby countryside. On the way, I saw the sign at the entrance of Jiangkou Primary School, and decided to go to the school temporarily to learn about the teaching situation in Conghua. Director Yang Shufen was the first to greet Premier Zhou. Then, other teachers and students flocked to meet Premier Zhou. Premier Zhou inspected the Young Pioneers' team site, students' dormitory, chemical fertilizer plant, labor garden, classroom, wall newspaper and comment desk. Menkoujiang primary school It can also be seen that Premier Zhou attached great importance to the education in New China and showed great concern for a primary school in a mountainous county.

? At that time, Menkoujiang Primary School was built in the Li's ancestral hall in Menkoujiang Village. Behind the ancestral hall, there are classrooms, dormitories and kitchens, as well as vegetable fields planted by teachers and students. With the development of education and the increase of students, the school buildings are not enough. President Zhu is working with male teachers to expand the school canteen and teachers' dormitory with old bricks. He used to be a soldier. He was injured in the war and had a major operation. After the transfer, he set an example and took the lead in doing all kinds of coolies, regardless of the pain. This was quite prominent at that time. Intellectuals from the old society are generally not good at manual labor. Under the leadership of President Zhu, all the "101 children" in Menkoujiang Primary School put down their bodies and took part in self-built school buildings and various kinds of labor. At that time, the teachers in this school were called "Bai Ziyi" because young teachers liked to wear white clothes. They often walk on Yingchun Street in twos and threes after school or during holidays. Most of the farmers around them are dressed in black, gray and blue, and the color difference is relatively large, so they are called "Bai Ziyi" behind them. Teachers at school also like others to say that they are white-winged. They think that it is an identity, which is probably equivalent to the saying of white-collar workers now! President Zhu transformed this group of "white-winged teenagers" with his own practical actions, making them become intellectuals of the new era who can teach by trade unions.

On that day, President Zhu and the teachers were working hard. When a teacher told him that Premier Zhou was coming to school, he was shocked. Probably unexpectedly, the prime minister of the country came to a primary school! His first thought is the safety of the prime minister. He immediately arranged for the teacher to pay attention to the surrounding dynamics and be ready to deal with all kinds of emergencies. He personally toured around the Prime Minister. Defending leaders is the instinct of soldiers! After that, he didn't even change his clothes, so he hurried to see Premier Zhou. By this time, Premier Zhou had listened to the director's report, inspected classrooms and other places, and gave instructions to leave. When Premier Zhou saw Chairman Zhu, a dusty servant, he called him Comrade Factory Director with a smile. There are many ways to report this matter, and opinions vary. Some people think that Premier Zhou means that schools should be factories with many talents, or it is possible. I think it is better to restore the situation at that time, and there is no need to add some opinions to the leaders. I heard these specific details from my teacher. As for the change from Menkoujiang Primary School to Liuxi Primary School, there have been many reports on this matter, so I won't say much.

From this incident, we can know that President Zhu trusts his subordinates and can actively play their role. He is a demobilized soldier and is not very familiar with the specific operation of teaching. Let the director do whatever he wants in teaching. The dean is on duty in the office, and it is also the first time that the dean meets the Prime Minister and reports to him. What he wants to do is the more arduous work of building a school. As can be seen from some photos reported at that time, there are many old bricks on the ground, which can reflect the construction environment in full swing at that time!

In the early 1960s, Zhu Bingjun was transferred to Jiangpu Middle School as the principal. At this time, Jiangpu Middle School was almost just a wasteland and a messy grave, and there was not even a decent brick house. Just after several brick houses were built, enrollment began. Then there are dormitories and canteens. Many red bricks and tiles were brought back directly from the county brick factory by teachers and students led by President Zhu. At that time, Conghua Brick Factory had just built a round kiln. Usually, one end is brick burning and the other end is brick filling. The loading, burning and discharging of bricks are carried out in cycles. Even in the area outside the kiln, the temperature inside the kiln remains at a high level. Conghua was engaged in construction at that time. As soon as the burned bricks come out of the kiln, they are loaded and transported away. In order to transport the bricks back early, President Zhu obtained the consent of the factory leaders and personally took the teacher into the kiln to move the bricks. There are only a few big fans, and the temperature in the kiln is still high. President Zhu and others soon sweated and finally went shirtless. Bricks are still hot after they are moved out of the kiln. After being counted by the factory staff, the students were immediately carried back to school, and the younger ones were carried away by two people. From the brick factory to Jiangpu Middle School, the straight-line distance is less than two kilometers, but there are Tianji paths along the way, with potholes and twists and turns, and the road surface is slippery, which is more than two kilometers on foot. Teachers and students of the whole school, regardless of gender, came one after another. They often fall down and get up again. They just carried (carried) a large number of bricks and tiles back to school, and built more than a dozen classrooms, more than 20 dormitories, and complete middle schools in senior middle schools and junior middle schools.

My sister is a freshman in Jiangpu Middle School. In recent years, she and her classmates have often come back to visit my mother, often recalling the situation of building the school together, and can't help but talk about the situation of moving bricks in the wheel kiln. I asked them, "Is it difficult?" They said, "it's not hard, what's the possibility!" But President Zhu took the lead in moving the bricks into the wheel kiln, which was extremely hot. We are just carrying a heavy load, so it's nothing. "

? After I participated in teaching, I was assigned to Lutian Primary School in the mountainous area for the first time. Unexpectedly, in Lutian Primary School, I heard Ouyang Rongguang and other teachers talking about Zhu Bingjun, the old principal of Lutian Primary School. At that time, the traffic in Lutian was inconvenient and there was no red brick factory in the local area. When Lutian Primary School was expanded, large mud bricks were used. Most of these mud bricks were made by President Zhu, with the teachers and students of the whole school, and with the help of nearby farmers, by hoeing the ground, driving cattle and practicing mud, and using wooden brick racks. My old headmaster has been like this, it's too hard!

? In the 1970s? After being the director of Conghua County Education Bureau, President Zhu has, as always, set up a brick factory, a printing factory, a school uniform factory and a forest farm, accumulating funds, constantly building new schools and constantly transforming old ones. They work hard, not for fame, not for profit, and silently contribute to the cause of education. Now, the educational outlook of Conghua has undergone earth-shaking changes. Director Zhu Lao and other predecessors have completed their historical mission. Their enterprising spirit will affect more and more Conghua people. Conghua people will never forget them!
