When was Nanning built?
Nanning has a long history and belongs to the land of Baiyue in ancient times. In the first year of Daxing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 3 18), Jinxing County was separated from Yulin County, and the county was located in Jinxing County, which is now Nanning. This is the beginning of the establishment of Nanning, with a history of 1680 years. In the eighth year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (AD 634), Emperor Taizong named it Yongzhou, and Nanning was called "Yong" for short. In the first year of Taiding in Yuan Dynasty (13 14), the center was Anning in southern Xinjiang, which was named "Nanning", hence the name Nanning. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was founded in 1958, and Nanning is the capital of the autonomous region. Nanning lives in Nanning Basin, one of the four great basin in Guangxi, with an average elevation of 74-79 meters and the highest point of 496 meters. Nanning is located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer, with subtropical monsoon climate, abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall and mild climate. Nanning is an important production base of grain and cash crops in Guangxi. It is rich in rice, corn, sugarcane, cassava, peanuts, beans, hemp, tea and flowers, especially more than 40 kinds of subtropical fruits such as bananas, pineapples, mangoes, lychees, longan and carambola, which are fragrant all year round. There are more than 300 kinds of Chinese herbal medicine resources, such as Amomum villosum, Dioscorea opposita, Pinellia ternata, Poria, honeysuckle and cinnamon. The fruits of these trees, together with pineapple, banana, litchi and longan, bring a fragrant season to Nanning. Mountains, rivers, lakes, streams, green trees, flowers, high-rise buildings and bustling street scenes complement each other, forming a landscape feature rich in southern subtropical scenery, which is praised as the "green capital" of China by Chinese and foreign tourists. At the same time, Nanning brings together delicious food and snacks from many places in China. Nanning is the main exhibition place of Guangxi cuisine, and all kinds of snacks represented by powdered food and glutinous rice paste are delicious. Representative diets with local characteristics include eight-treasure rice, porridge, sauerkraut, snail, hydrangea powder, snail powder, dried fish powder, old friend noodles (powder), lemon duck and so on. Nanning was named as "Excellent Tourism City in China" by National Tourism Administration 1998, and successively won the titles of "Top 50 China Cities with Comprehensive Strength", "National Garden City", "Dubai International Demonstration Award for Improving Human Settlements in 2000", "First China Human Settlements Award" and "2008 United Nations Habitat Award". 1999 Up to now, Nanning has successfully held the 8th Nanning International Folk Song Art Festival, which has become a new highlight of the combination of culture and economy in Guangxi, making Nanning a "place where world folk songs become attached".
