First of all, the story behind the new Taiwan dollar
In the early days of the Kuomintang's withdrawal from Taiwan, the lines and colors were very simple and monotonous. As for the first set of NT$ printed and issued in June of 1949, there are three denominations, namely 1 yuan, 5 yuan and 10 yuan, and all three denominations of banknotes are straight banknotes (that is, the patterns and characters are vertical). On the front of the banknote is Sun Yat-sen's head, and on the back is the silhouette of Taipei Taiwan Bank. NTD issued four sets, and the fourth set was issued in September 1954. By May of 196 1, the Bank of Taiwan had issued the first set of horizontal NT dollars with the denomination of 1 yuan, 5 yuan, 10 yuan, 50 yuan and 100 yuan. The picture still uses Sun Yat-sen's usual bust, and the other front and back linings are mainly the Taipei Presidential Palace and Xiluo Bridge in central Taiwan Province Province. 1978, the Bank of Taiwan issued a third set of horizontal NT dollars, which adopted a small denomination of Sun Yat-sen and a large denomination of Chiang Kai-shek. Small denomination notes with Sun Yat-sen's head printed, the denomination is 10 yuan, 50 yuan, 100 yuan.
Second, the old Taiwan dollar.
The old Taiwan dollar refers to the paper money issued in Taiwan Province Province by the Bank of Taiwan authorized by the Executive Yuan of China in 1946. The official name is "Taiwan dollar exchange certificate". At that time, the "Taiwanese banknotes in Taiwan Province Province" during the Japanese occupation period was called NT. Later, because NT was issued on June 5th, it was called old NT. 1949. Before the formal authorization, the Bank of Taiwan issued the old Taiwan dollar in Japan on May 22nd, 1946. At first, it only issued one, five and ten yuan notes. On, 50 yuan and 100 yuan banknotes were issued on September. Later, due to price fluctuations, 500 yuan, 1000 yuan, 1 10,000 yuan or even110,000 yuan were issued. After that, the currency was reformed and NT$ 40,000 was issued.
In addition, regarding the anti-counterfeiting function of NT, the anti-counterfeiting feature of the fifth set of horizontal NT banknotes currently used in Taiwan Province Province is 10, and all denominations share 1. Connect up, down, left and right; 2. Blind spots; 3. Fixed flower watermark and white watermark; 4. Color-changing ink; 5. Overprinting on both sides; 6. Refraction window safety line; 7. Gravure printing; 8. Constantly adjust hidden characters; 9. Small print; 10. Hidden fluorescent filament. 500 yuan and 1000 yuan banknotes have anti-counterfeiting features such as foil film and light and shadow changing fluorescent patterns. The 2000 yuan coupon has the anti-counterfeiting features of metallic ink.
