Introduction of Chikurinji attractions:
Chikulin Temple was founded in the second year of Jin Dading in the Northern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 162), located on the south slope of Daiwang Mountain in Laishan, Yantai City. It is the only ancient temple with national style and strong incense in Jiaodong Peninsula. It has been restored in the past dynasties, rebuilt in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and inscribed by Emperor Qianlong. Ten years of turmoil turned it into ruins. Today, the rebuilt Chikulin Temple not only retains the historical beauty of the holy name, but also expands its scale. The whole temple has a royal style and great momentum. There are the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Hall, the Three Temples, the East-West Annex Hall and the Bell and Drum Tower in the temple. The hall is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, Sakyamuni Buddha, Three Saints of the West, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Earth Treasure Bodhisattva, Eighteen Arhats and other Buddhas with vivid images.
