As early as the Zhou Dynasty, there were doctors specializing in fracture. There is a record of fracture location in Zhou Li Tianguan. Wang Kentang's Standard of Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment also recorded many methods to repair fractures. Jin Jian, a medical doctor in Qing Dynasty, summed up the previous experience of bonesetting, and summarized eight techniques: touching, receiving, lifting, pressing, rubbing, pushing and taking. After 1949, Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine workers made scientific research on the eight methods of bonesetting, and made some improvements and innovations, enriching and improving the content and level of bonesetting massage.
