After several vandalism and theft, the temple was extremely decadent. Lying stone tablets, fuzzy murals, overgrown with weeds, messy courtyard, extremely painful. The dilapidated courtyard is extremely out of harmony with the environment around Yuquan, but they have witnessed history together!
Through the yard, into the back room, on the top floor, only to see the wall covered with poems and couplets, very literary. Later, I learned that this is Wei Xiangshu's nephew. As we all know at that time, he often came here to drink poems and express his lofty aspirations. The scene of 300 years ago reappears in front of us. They are too ambitious to make good use of. Occasionally, they will be in such a fairyland, quiet and full of Zen, which will make them unhappy about wine for a while.
Later generations know about its temples, but few people know that this dilapidated yuquan temple once produced two great men: Wei Xiangshu and Li.
Wei Xiangshu was a famous politician and philosopher in Qing Dynasty, and was also the minister of punishments. He wrote to the imperial court many times, reformed the political affairs and became a famous minister. Li is an official who is both an official and an official, and he is also a ritual scholar. He has an imperial scholar's inscription record and poems and collections of poems, Liu Huai Tang Ji. When they were studying in Wei, they both hid in yuquan temple and studied hard, which had a great influence on the style of study in Yuzhou at that time, and anecdotes were widely circulated, which made yuquan temple famous for a while. When Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong heard about this, they thought that Wei lived a clean life and had a good knowledge. They gave him two pieces of graphite and set them in yuquan temple.
