The dispute between Bashu and Sichuan in the pre-Qin period evolved into a "protracted war" because of the strength contrast between the two sides. It was not until Qin Gui, the ancestor of Qin Shihuang, ordered Sima Cuo to lead an army to attack Sichuan that the dust settled on both sides. Zhang Yi, the Commissioner of the King of Qin, also became the first person to build a city in Chongqing and Chengdu. Later, the emperor unified the rivers and lakes and made great efforts to establish a county system. Shu County and Ba County are thirty-six counties. Those who are not convinced by each other in the two places will temporarily put out their anger and build a harmonious society.
War of words in Han and Tang Dynasties
In the Han dynasty, the dispute between Chengdu and Chongqing started again, this time for the county boundary. "Taiping Yulan" said: "The dispute between Bashu and Sichuan in the past has not been decided over the years. In the eighth year of the Han Dynasty, the mountain split by itself. If this is the case, the people of Bashu are afraid of heaven's punishment and fight for it. " The eighth year of the Han dynasty, that is, BC 199. This year, because of the long-term dispute between the two sides, God was angry and caused the mountain to crack ―― in fact, it may be just an ordinary mudslide ―― but the dispute between Chengdu and Chongqing actually stopped, at least there was no large-scale use of force.
However, even if there is no war, there must be some war of words. Sun Guangxian of the Five Dynasties said in his book "North Dream": "People in eastern Sichuan and western Sichuan often treat each other lightly. Xichuan people said,' Zizhou people are the grass market in my east gate, how can they pair up with me?' After hearing this, Liu Zhongying said to the audience,' I have been in the imperial dynasty for thirty years, and Tsinghua has prepared a calendar. I want to make a market order with Nishikawa today. Everyone laughs at it. "In today's words, it is strange that the rule at that time was in Chengdu and Dongchuan was in Chongqing. Chengdu people look down on Chongqing and even call it their own "grass market". Of course, the chief executive of Chongqing is not convinced, but he is very humorous. He replied: "I have been in the court for more than 30 years and have experienced all the honors. I am really honored to be the director of Chengdu Marketing Office today! " People in both places laughed at each other at that time. Until the 1980s, when Chengdu people laughed at people, they would say, "Your baby came from the east gate." ? Its deep language structure may come from the war of words in the late Tang Dynasty.
Temporary Harmony in Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties
During the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, because the two places often had to resist barbarian enemies such as the Yuan and Qing Dynasties, there was not much dispute for the time being, and there was a harmonious atmosphere of unity and common enemy.
The administrative divisions in Song Dynasty were divided into three levels: road, state and county. The hometown of Bashu is divided into Chengdu, Zizhou, Lizhou and Kuizhou. Chengdu is the seat of Chengdu Road, while Chongqing belongs to Kuizhou Road, which governs Fengjie. 1 189, Zhao Chun was made King Gong and ascended the throne with Neichan, saying that this was a "double celebration", so he upgraded the Duke of Zhou to Chongqing. When the Yuan Dynasty established Sichuan Zhongshu as a province, Chengdu, Chongqing and other provinces were merged to govern Chengdu, and the name of Sichuan Province began. The Chief Secretary of Sichuan took office, including Chengdu and Chongqing, and the governor is still in Chengdu. During the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, Chongqing people had to regard Chengdu as a "provincial capital city", feeling depressed and in a daze. However, in the Qing Dynasty, Sichuan Province changed to No.5 Road, Chengdu to Mianlongmao Road, and Chongqing to Chuandong Road, and the two sides fought again.
Modern "competition for seats"
1895 After the treaty of shimonoseki was signed, Chongqing was listed as an open commercial port, and its inherent "dock culture" was deepened. As a commercial port open to the outside world, Chongqing is indeed more popular than Chengdu at this stage. Most of the modern industries in Bashu's hometown began in Chongqing during this period, such as matches, flour, machinery and so on.
However, the good times did not last long. 19 13, Yuan Shikai's government announced that it would abandon politics to save counties nationwide and change to Chongqing government, leaving only Ba County directly under Sichuan Province. (Chongqing was not built until 1929, and the prefix "Chongqing" disappeared 16 years. However, after the Anti-Japanese War, the "seat dispute" between Chengdu and Chongqing has undergone great changes. The July 7th Incident broke out in 1937, and the National Government moved to Chongqing in June of that year. 1940 In September, Chongqing was promoted as a special city and capital, and became the economic and cultural center of wartime China. All kinds of resources are inclined to Chongqing, which has laid the foundation for Chongqing to become the first industrial city in the west.
Contemporary all-around competition
In the early days of the founding of New China, Chongqing was a municipality directly under the Central Government. 1954 became a municipality under the jurisdiction of Sichuan province, and 1997 became the fourth municipality directly under the central government of China.
Among the people, starting from 1997, most Chongqing people are unwilling to regard themselves as Sichuanese. I remember that when I was in college, I attended a hometown meeting in Sichuan, and Chongqing people basically refused to accept invitations. I was very angry at that time, because Chongqing girls are famous "fans" and they refused to join. From an aesthetic point of view, the Sichuan Alumni Association looks rather shabby.
Indeed, even after becoming a municipality directly under the central government, Chongqing's per capita income and living standard are still lower than Chengdu's. Chengdu people think that Chongqing people can't do this, but Chongqing people think that when/kloc-0 was promoted to a municipality directly under the central government in 1997, most poverty-stricken counties in Sichuan were crossed, which seriously affected the "leap-forward development" of the mountain city.
The so-called "Chengdu-Chongqing Football Championship" in the 1990s is a microcosm of the overall wrestling between the two sides. At that time, as long as the football match between Chengdu and Chongqing was a dead end, both sides would "rise up" and "get him again"
In the Internet age, the struggle between the two sides has impacted various forums. In 2005, Chongqing people took a group of photos of "48 Hours in Chengdu" and put them on Xinhua Forum, mocking Chengdu mercilessly from aspects of urban construction and living habits. This angered netizens in Chengdu, and the two sides launched an online scuffle, which was later called the "Chengdu-Chongqing war of words" in the online history of China. Some writers also took the opportunity to write a small book with the same name and made a small fortune.
In fact, the dispute between Chengdu and Chongqing is not only a historical conflict, but also a conflict between the characters and customs of the people in the two cities. For example, when cooking noodles, Chongqing people think that as long as it is cooked, it is almost enough to pour some cooked oil and add a spoonful of minced meat, while Chengdu people want soup with high soup and fine noodles, pork belly minced meat and elegant red oil, and even have requirements on the origin and thickness of pepper and pepper. Chongqing people think that Chengdu people are too girly and "very annoying"; Chengdu people say Chongqing people are stupid and "don't understand life".
Objectively speaking, Chongqing and Chengdu are completely different cities, in fact, there is nothing to compare.
Chengdu is a plain city with comparative advantages in food, architecture and transportation. As a "land of abundance", Chengdu has low prices of daily necessities; Because it is plain, Chengdu's real estate development is quite convenient; In terms of traffic, Chengdu has built a ring road very early, and there is not much traffic jam. Chongqing is a mountainous city with high agricultural cost, so the food price is higher than that of Chengdu. The construction cost is high, so almost all of them are high-rise, and real estate development is not very enjoyable; In terms of transportation, if Chongqing people don't drive, they have to take the bus or "throw ham", and there is no chance to ride a bike.
Comparing with others is actually a very boring thing. The flowers are beautiful, the trees are handsome and the grass is simple and honest. What is the contrast? Than, than stupid, or stupid.
Nowadays, the dispute between Chengdu and Chongqing is turning to Chengdu-Chongqing cooperation. On June 9, 2007, with the approval of the State Council, Chongqing and Chengdu became national comprehensive reform pilot zones. This is the first time that the central government has set up pilot zones in two provincial capitals/municipalities directly under the Central Government since China's reform and opening up, and it is also the first time to set up pilot zones in the west. The national comprehensive reform pilot zone, also known as the "new special zone", is said to symbolize the focus of the new round of reform and opening up.
I hope that the twin cities of the "new special zone" can resolve the struggle knot of thousands of years and stop being more "salty" than stupid.
