Basic information of Wenchang Pavilion
Wenchang Pavilion stands at the southernmost tip of the pedestrian street in Yulin Ancient City, and its basic surface is square. It was built in Qianlong of Qing Dynasty 19 (1754). The whole building is made of pure wood structure, with three drops of water on the double eaves of the cross rest peak. The total height of the building is about 19 meters. The building foundation is four stone piers with a width of about 5 meters, 1. 1 m, and the whole building has a cross-shaped passage at the bottom. There are 28 huge pillars supporting the building foundation, among which four towering pillars stand on the inside and run through the whole building, which is very majestic. On the second floor is Wenchang Hall, where the statue of Emperor Wenchang is enshrined. On the third floor is Kuixing Building, dedicated to Kuixing God. According to folklore, both of them are gods in charge of human literature, transportation and other affairs, and they are highly respected by literati. The construction of this building also reflects the fashion of attaching importance to culture in historical and cultural cities. The structure and appearance of this building and Xinminglou are similar, but the specifications are slightly smaller, which can be called sisters.

In Jiaqing 17 (18 10), Ye Lan, a famous calligrapher and juren in Yulin, donated money to repair the building. There are three plaques hanging from top to bottom on each floor, which are "the first gentleman in the world" written by the son of "Five-Star Garden" and "Wenchang Pavilion" written by his grandson. Three generations in Mo Bao get together. At the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, the activities of the broad masses of soldiers and civilians were in full swing. 1in the summer of 938, Yulin held a large-scale donation to save the country. People from all walks of life rushed to give generously. Mr. Liu Zhen, a patriotic blacksmith, was brave and good at fighting. On the spot, he donated a pair of red gold earrings of 200 yuan Yinyang couple, which greatly promoted the local anti-Japanese and national salvation upsurge. The Anti-Japanese Support Association held a meeting to commend and presented a plaque with "profound understanding of righteousness" to hang in this building.
