What country was ancient Henan?
In ancient times, Henan was the capital of various dynasties from the Western Zhou Dynasty.

In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhou Chengwang made its capital in Luoyi.

Luoyi (now Luoyang) was the capital of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.

Henan province is named because most of its history lies south of the Yellow River.
