Historical Evolution of Sucheng District
Sucheng District has a long history. According to written records, it has a history of more than 3000 years. Shao Hao, the leader of the ancient Dongyi people, was an active member in this area.

The Spring and Autumn Period was a part of the Kingdom of Judah and the Kingdom of Zhong You, and later it was the territory of Wu Chu. During the Qin Dynasty, Xia Xiang County was located here and belonged to surabaya county.

During the Han and Wei Dynasties, it belonged to Linhuai County and Xiapi County. In 405 AD (the first year of Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty), he settled in the southeast of Xia Xiang County and ruled the ancient city of Judah (now the north bank of the Yellow River in Zhenglou, Sucheng District).

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, there were many mergers and reconstructions. In 550 AD, Xia Xiang County was abolished and its jurisdiction was Qianxian County. In 762 AD (the first year of Baoying in Tang Daizong), it was changed to Suqian County to avoid the surname of Li Yu.

During the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Suqian's territory changed and its affiliation changed many times, and it successively belonged to Sizhou County, Xiapi County, Huai 'an Prefecture and Xuzhou Prefecture. During the Revolution of 1911, the state government system was abolished and Suqian was directly under the Jiangsu Provincial Office.

1927 After the Northern Expedition of the National Revolutionary Army, it belonged to Huaiyin administrative supervision area. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, China * * * production party established five county-level democratic regimes around Suqian, namely Suqian, Subei, Sisu, Suisu and Canal Special Zone.

1In August, 945, Zhongsisu County Committee and County Corps took over Suqian County and established Suqian City in the county and its suburbs.

1949 In May, Sisu County and Suqian County were abolished, and parts of Sisu County and Suqian City were merged into Suqian County, belonging to Huaiyin District. From 65438 to 0983, Jiangsu Province implemented the system of city governing counties, and Suqian County was subordinate to Huaiyin City.

1987 65438+On February 5th, the State Council approved Suqian County to be changed to Suqian City (county level), which still belongs to Huaiyin City. Sucheng District is an administrative area established in September with the establishment of Suqian City at the prefecture level, 1996.
