22B-STi can be said to be the most special car in the history of impreza, such as a 2.2-liter car with a high price of 5 million yen, a hand-made body, a special engine for only 400 cars and so on. All these show its extraordinary again.
This is a recognized classic in the history of Subaru STI.
It is mainly the picture of the 97 impreza world rally car in WRC. The all-aluminum engine hatch cover, the leading wide-throwing body at that time, and the design of the rear tail with adjustable angle are all amazing.
This limited car is equipped with EJ22G engine and matched with the VF23 ball bearing turbocharger of Ishikawa Island Alkali Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., which can output horsepower and torque of 280 PS/6000 rpm, 37.0 kg m/3200 rpm respectively. As for the last car numbered 400, plus three factory test cars numbered 000, it is now privately owned by David Lapworth, the owner of the British racing company Prodrive, which has been closely related to Subaru and STi departments.
As the owner of countless racing companies, David Lapworth's collection also proves the outstanding value of this car-in fact, through various special channels, you can get a limited number of STIs, including S20 1, S202, S203 and S204, but it is basically impossible to get a perfect 22B to illustrate the value and rarity of this car.
There have been different opinions about the naming reason of "22B": some people think that 22 represents the displacement of 2.2L, and B represents the Billstam shock absorber; Some people think that the hexadecimal number of 555 (the main sponsor of Subaru team) is exactly 22B;; Some people even think that 22B stands for 2.2 Boxer.
The fifth generation STi version WRX appeared.
With the last improvement (non-modification) of Subaru original factory on the existing car series of impreza, the STi version WRX is also moving towards the fifth generation version.
The fifth generation WRX STi has replaced a brand-new engine in terms of power. The new engine not only has the same power output data as the original car, but also improves the weakness of low-speed torque of the impreza, and is replaced by a high-rigidity gearbox, which reduces vibration and noise.
The fifth generation installed a brand-new BOXER PHASE II engine, which improved the problem of insufficient low-speed torque of the previous generation, and also installed a brand-new gearbox, shock absorber and suspension.
WRX STI is getting more and more mature! Since the fifth generation, the high-performance red-top engine code-named EJ207 has been used, but the biggest change between EJ207 and the previous generation is that the reinforced waterway design is added inside the engine, which greatly improves the ability to withstand high horsepower output.

The weight is 2kg lighter than that of the ordinary model, the original tail exhaust pipe with the diameter of 120mm, the intake banana with the diameter of 55.5mm, and the newly set engine management program.
