Zhongxin Town, Lianping County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province is one of the producing areas of lanterns, and "chandelier" and "viewing lanterns" are a distinctive traditional folk custom of the Han nationality in Zhongxin Town. 1730 (eighth year of Yongzheng, Qing dynasty) The second volume of Lian Ping's "Zhou Zhi Customs" records: "Shangyuan Xiqun Lantern performed various dances for dragons and lions and sang tea-picking songs." "Shangyuan" means "Lantern Festival", and it is also said that the Loyal Lantern Festival began in17th century in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. In the first month of each year, the central town of Lianping County, a major town in Jiulianshan, northern Guangdong, is crowded and colorful lanterns are spectacular. Zhongxin Lantern is a combination of Han folk painting, paper-cutting, calligraphy and couplets. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the "Sino-Singapore Lantern Festival" has displayed Hakka traditional folk crafts and folk customs in the form of "cultural bridging and economic and trade singing", promoted national culture, prospered urban and rural trade, expanded investment attraction, and promoted the economic and trade development of Sino-Singapore and even Lianping County, and Zhongxin Town has become a veritable "hometown of lanterns".
