Mizhi tomb is unusual. It was hidden in a dusty town, and Chairman Mao personally wrote a eulogy.
Some time ago, we drove along the Wuding River to Jingbian, Hengshan and Mizhi counties in Yulin City. Among them, Mizhi County has the longest stay, because there are the most scenic spots here. In addition to visiting Li Zicheng Palace, the ancient cave city, Jiangs Manor and Yangjiagou Revolutionary Site, we also visited a tomb in a remote town.

This town is Tao Zhen in Mizhi County, and this tomb is Li Dingming's tomb.

I have never heard of Li Dingming, and I don't know who it is. But when our elders heard this name, they told us excitedly that it was a democratic personage respected by Chairman Mao in northern Shaanxi and said that they must go and see it.

On the way to my former residence, I got a general understanding of Li Dingming's background information on the Internet:

Li Dingming (188 1- 1947), a native of Mizhi, northern Shaanxi, was poor when he was a child and stayed at his uncle's house to study.

His uncle was none other than Du Liangkui, the father of the famous anti-Japanese star Du. Du Liangkui was a juren and a radical figure in the late Qing Dynasty. He joined the League, encouraged the county militia to drive away the Qing government officials and took part in the struggle against Yuan Shikai's claim to the throne.

Li Dingming, a teenager, studied literature and medicine at his uncle's house and laid a solid foundation. At the age of 22, he was selected as a student in the final exam of Suide Prefecture, and then returned to his hometown to teach.

After the Revolution of 1911, he supported Sun Yat-sen's ideas and served as the head of the eastern district of Mizhi County, consultant and section chief of Yulin Daoyin Department. 19 13 set up the first primary school in Mizhi county, 19 18 set up Tao Zhen Ethnic Middle School when he returned to his hometown to recuperate. Because of his fairness, enthusiasm for public welfare, profound knowledge and good medical skills, he has a high reputation in the local area.

Li Dingming was initially skeptical and hostile to the * * * production party. 1935, the Central Red Army reached northern Shaanxi on the Long March. Under the influence of the * * * policy, he gradually accepted the * * * policy under the persuasion of students from party member, Ai Chunan, Zhang Hanwu, Cao and his second son Li, who took part in the revolution in his early years.

194 1 year, the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region implemented the "three-thirds system", and Li Dingming was elected as the vice chairman of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government on behalf of an enlightened gentleman.

Li Dingming's greatest contribution was that when the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region was facing serious economic difficulties, he put forward the idea of "better troops and simpler administration".

1940-194 1 year, due to the economic blockade of the Japanese army and the Kuomintang, the financial situation in the border area was extremely difficult. "There is almost no clothes, no oil, no paper, no vegetables, no soldiers' shoes and socks, and no staff coats in winter." ...

194 1 winter, at the second meeting of the Senate in the border region, Li Dingming contacted other senators and put forward the suggestion that "the government should thoroughly plan the economy, implement the principle of streamlining the army, and avoid the phenomenon of making ends meet and economic chaos". Mao Zedong attached great importance to it after reading it, not only copied it verbatim, but also commented: "This method is very good, which just transformed our institutionalism.

This suggestion was quickly implemented. From 194 1 to 1942, the border region carried out three times of "streamlining the army and simplifying the administration" and passed the most difficult period.

Li Dingming sincerely supports China's anti-Japanese national united front. He also donated all his possessions to the border region government when it was in the most difficult time. He also has a close relationship with Mao Zedong personally.

1947, the Kuomintang concentrated on attacking the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. Chairman Mao, the CPC Central Committee and the border region government began to move to northern Shaanxi, and Li Dingming also moved around. In February of that year, when he was transferred to Yihe Town, Suide County, he died of a sudden cerebral hemorrhage.

1958, in memory of this enlightened gentleman who made great contributions to the border region government, the State Council reported to Premier Zhou Enlai for approval, and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Committee allocated funds to build the Li Dingming Cemetery. The cemetery was started in the spring of 1959 and completed in the autumn of 1960. February of that year was 1 1.

This is the cemetery in front of us.

Li Dingming Mausoleum is located on the mountain ridge of Taohuamao, his hometown, with a commanding view.

There is a fence around the tomb and an iron gate in the middle. Above the gate stands a five-pointed star, and below the five-pointed star there are eight striking Chinese characters: "Li Dingming, Vice President's Cemetery".

There stands a tall monument in front of the tomb, engraved with words on all sides, including the words inscribed by the border region government and Chairman Mao on the front.

The tomb is very elegant, dome-shaped, a bit like a yurt, solemn, solid and solemn.

Along the steps in front of Li Dingming's tomb, you can go down to the bottom of the ditch, where Li Dingming's former residence is. It's a small courtyard, and five caves have been built in Yipo.

The former residence was built in 1926, which was designed and renovated by Li Dingming himself. Now the courtyard is uninhabited, and it has been opened as a patriotic education base, with the sign of "Li Dingming Cemetery Former Residence Cultural Relics Protection and Management Office" hanging on it.

By visiting Li Dingming's former residence and cemetery, I learned about a person and a period of history. Such a trip is also quite meaningful.
