Hongxing Hai School (formerly Dalian Fisheries School) was founded in 1958. It is the only public key general secondary school in Northeast China specializing in marine engineering, shipbuilding, navigation technology and marine fishery, and it is affiliated to Dalian Municipal Government.

The school is located in the southwest of Dalian, adjacent to national key universities such as Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Maritime University and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Huarunhai China School adheres to the school-running philosophy of "erudition, truth-seeking and innovation". Since its establishment 55 years ago, it has trained a large number of outstanding management cadres and professional and technical personnel for the society and made due contributions to the development of marine economy in China.
