Since the Han and Tang Dynasties, it has been an important channel for cultural exchanges and business exchanges between China and the West, so historical relics are scattered all over the region, and ancient cultural treasures are scattered everywhere. There are Neolithic cultural sites such as Shandan Four Dams and Minle East-West Ash Mountain. There are large ancient city sites such as Heishui Kingdom, Camel City and Xusanwan. Zhangye's local culture has a long history, vivid modeling and exquisite folk crafts such as shadow play, puppet, paper-cutting and embroidery.

In particular, tourist souvenirs developed in recent years, such as Rushan pyrography, antique souvenirs "Four Tiger Dolls" and "Huteng Dancing Figurines", Qilian fossil stone carvings, jade carvings, etc., are various and unique. Ethnic customs and culture complement each other, with diverse forms and rich colors, which also constitute a unique landscape in the west.
