What are the main ancient buildings in Fencheng?
The ancient buildings in Fencheng, from the Jin Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty, are huge, with about 40 ancient buildings with a total area of about 20,000 square meters. They are a group of ancient buildings with relatively complete historical appearance and are known as "one of the top ten ancient buildings in Shanxi".

The main buildings of ancient buildings in Fencheng include the county government, Drum Tower, Confucian Temple, Guandi Temple, pre-school brick tower, City God Temple, Minglun Temple, Sheji Temple, Hongji Bridge and city wall.

County government, located in the southeast of Gutaiping County, was founded in the Tang Dynasty and was once the commander-in-chief of Wei Chijingde, the famous Duke of Hubei in the Tang Dynasty. After Wei Chijingde's death, Shuaifu was changed to county government.

Drum Tower is located in the center of Cross Street in Taiping Ancient City. It was built in the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. It is divided into three layers: the lower layer is blue brick and white ash, and the upper two layers are wood structures.

The base of the Drum Tower is a cross-hole arch tunnel leading to the Fourth Street, which is divided into upper and lower floors. The lower floor is surrounded by a protective wall, and there are clear water walls along four columns in the middle. The east, west, south and north doors of the Drum Tower are connected, and there are stone tablets above the four doors, namely, Tafen in the east, Drum Tower in the west, Concubine in Nantong and Du Yao in the north. Inside, use the wooden ladder to climb to the second floor.

On the second floor, a wooden plaque is hung in the north and south. The southern plaque reads "Taiping Ancient Town" and the northern plaque reads "Holding the Moon and Leaving Clouds". Wooden railings are placed upstairs, overlooking the four directions. The eaves and wing angles are supported by the barrel arches on the upper and lower floors, and the appearance is magnificent and gorgeous.

Confucian Temple is located in the northwest of Gutaiping County and southeast of Chenghuang Temple, with a building area of 6,000 square meters. It was built in the early Tang Dynasty, and 1269 was rebuilt in the Yuan Dynasty. It was renovated many times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The main buildings of the Confucian Temple are Yingbi, Lingxingmen, Chi Pan, Dachengmen, Minghuan Temple and Xiangxian Temple, as well as the platform, Dacheng Hall, Tibetan Scripture Building and Chongsheng Temple.

Gong Xue is adjacent to the Confucian Temple, both of which are ancient schools for training talents, commonly known as "Temple Studies". Gong Xue West Wing in Fen Town still exists today, and ancient scientific research has been conducted here. Gong Xueqian has an octagonal nine-story "pre-school tower", also known as "pre-school brick tower", formerly known as "Wenfeng Tower", and its architectural style is the brick tower of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The base of the pre-school tower is 20 meters in circumference, the plane of the tower is hollow on eight sides, and the height of the tower is 24 meters.

Guandi Temple, commonly known as "Wu Temple", together with the Confucian Temple, is the temple for governing the county. It is located in the southeast of Gutaiping County, that is, to the north of the later Xiaodongmen Inner Street, to the southeast of the county government, and sits east to west.

Hongji Bridge is located in the southwest of Gutaiping County, and then under Nanguan Shipo, with wood and stone structure. Founded in Jin 1 184. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty changed the wooden pillars of the covered bridge into stone pillars and has been repairing them ever since. The bridge faces east and west, with a single stone ticket and a single hole, and a spout carved on the top of the ticket.

On the bridge deck, there are five single eaves, a rest balcony at the top of the mountain, and a bridge pavilion formed by crowns supported by 16 huge stone pillars. In the lobby of the bridge pavilion, you can pass, rest and shelter from the wind and rain.

Minglun Temple, located in the north rear of the Confucian Temple, was built in the Yuan Dynasty, with an area of 283 square meters. Taiping County is a place where China people and Confucian scholars preach feudal ethics, such as the Three Cardinals and the Five Permits, loyalty, filial piety and righteousness.

On the east side of Minglun Temple is a forest of steles, which contains more than 200 stone tablets, including the most complete statue tablet of Northern Wei Dynasty in Guizhou, 5 12, as well as the statue tablet and calligraphy tablet of Northern Qi, Sui and Tang Dynasties, which not only has archaeological value, but also is a treasure in calligraphy art.

In addition, there are two poems and tablets of Wen Zhiming in Minglun Temple, which are treasures in calligraphy inscriptions. The tablets are also included in the Selected Inscriptions of Linfen in Past Dynasties, and marked as "inscribed in Qing Dynasty".

According to the Records of Taiping County, these two poems were originally engraved in the county government by Wucheng of Taiping County for his own appreciation, and later moved here. During his tenure as Taiping county magistrate, Wu Cheng "can only be an official if he repairs waste and lifts down". Therefore, it was later listed as the "Temple of Famous Officials" in Taiping County to commemorate it.
