Who knows the history and present situation of Shanghai Jiangwan Airport?
This is the first civil airport in Shanghai, around Fudan University.

Jiangwan Airport used to be a military airport with an area of 8.6 square kilometers. 1996 after the troops were evacuated and left to the local Yangpu district government, they have been in a state of being developed, retaining a relatively complete ecosystem and rich animal and plant species, and even found a large raptor-a common ostrich. However, due to its long-term neglect of management, illegal bird catching and serious white pollution, some rivers are blocked. There are hundreds of immigrants living there. They live in a dark, damp and low-rise bungalow, which is seriously polluted.

Then PHD007, as a planning expert, introduced the greater danger faced by Jiangwan Airport: the developer's development river completely destroyed this rare original green space. He used slides to show several aerial photos, aerial views and planning schemes of Jiangwan Airport. According to the original architectural planning scheme, the original green space of Jiangwan Airport will no longer exist, which is tantamount to adding insult to injury to Shanghai, which lacks natural ecological plots and is extremely disproportionate to Shanghai's status as an international metropolis.

Subsequently, experts and professors from East China Normal University, Fudan University, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Science and Technology Design Institute and Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Center talked about the necessity and possibility of protecting this pristine green space from a professional perspective, combined with foreign experiences and lessons. Experts say that in some western big cities, the planning of the green belt around the city is often several kilometers, while Shanghai is only 500 meters-1000 meters, but it is actually less than 200 meters; From the ecological point of view, the artificial green space cultivated by the government has low value because of single species or forced species collocation; No matter from Washington, London and other places, we have already had the experience of preserving the original green space around big cities, which can be used for reference in China.

Then, enthusiastic environmental supporters expressed their views on how to protect this rare virgin green land. Students from Cao Yang Middle School said, referring to the experience of famous foreign universities, Jiangwan Airport is located in the university area in the northeast corner of Shanghai. Can it be transformed into a botanical garden in the university? Or directly build a greenhouse plant museum; Some students think that Shanghai has just made great efforts to build a youth activity base focusing on human landscape, which can turn the original green space of Jiangwan Airport into an activity base focusing on natural landscape, and the two complement each other.

What Shanghai lacks now is a large plot with natural ecological value like the previous Jiangwan Airport. Although there are nature reserves such as Chongming Dongtan and Dajinshan Island, some of them are far from the urban area, some are newly formed land, and some are tiny islands. At present, they lack the conditions of ecological diversity. Shanghai is vigorously greening, and large public green spaces such as Zhong Yan Green Space are constantly being built. However, they are not ecological green spaces. Compared with the original Jiangwan Airport, the grade is quite different. The former Jiangwan Airport should be protected as a non-renewable rare land. It would be a pity if the ecological environment there is completely destroyed, because the destruction of the ecological environment is often irreversible. We also hope that government departments can attach importance to this rare treasure and benefit the people of Shanghai.

New jiangwan city is located in the north of Shanghai downtown, and was originally used as the land for Jiangwan Airport of the Air Force. 1986 the State Council and the central military commission agreed to relocate the airport to make room for Shanghai's urban construction and development. In July, 1994, Jiangwan Airport was officially closed. 1997 Shanghai New jiangwan city Development Co., Ltd. was established to comprehensively develop 6 square kilometers of land of the former Jiangwan Airport.
