Historical origin of Shimen national water conservancy scenic spot
Since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, this place has been a transportation hub connecting the north and the south, and is called "the hometown of plank roads in China". The Shimen tunnel, which was dug by the method of "fire and water excitation" in Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty, is the earliest man-made tunnel in the world. There are more than 100 cliff stone carvings near Shimen, and the most famous Shimen "Thirteen Products" is called "National Treasure". Cao Cao's Xue Kun, Sean's Jade Pot and Zheng Zizhen's Shi Hu are vigorous and simple, with smooth brushwork, especially Ode to Shimen and Shimen Ming, which have been regarded as the models of China's calligraphy art since ancient times. Zhou Fan, a Japanese scholar, praised "Shimen Stone Carvings as the Teacher of Japan".
