Tiananmen Square 1
Located in the center of Beijing, East Chang 'an Avenue, Dongcheng District, China, starting from Tiananmen Square in the north, Zhengyangmen in the south, China National Museum in the east and the Great Hall of the People in the west. It is 880 meters long from north to south and 500 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 440,000 square meters, which can accommodate 1 10,000 people for a grand gathering. It is the largest city square in the world.
The ground is completely paved with light-colored granite slats that have been treated by special technology. In the center of the square stands the Monument to the People's Heroes and the solemn Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. On both sides of Tiananmen Square are the Working People's Cultural Palace and Zhongshan Park, which are integrated with Tiananmen Square. 1986 Tiananmen Square was named as one of the "Sixteen Scenes of Jinghua" and the landscape was named "Tianan Liri".
Tiananmen Square records the indomitable revolutionary spirit and fearless heroism of the people of China. The May 4th Movement, the 1 1 March 29th Movement and the May 20th Movement all left a great legacy for the modern revolutionary history of China. At the same time, it is also the place where numerous major political and historical events took place, and it is a historical witness of China's rise from decline to rise.
