Frankly speaking, the author has a rational and tolerant attitude towards the history of China people in the last century, but his literary value is average and he is ashamed of Mao Dun's literature prize. But then again, the Mao Dun Literature Award is no longer a pure literary award. The dialogue and language in the book have no personality. At first glance, I feel that I don't fit in with the characters, neither local nor foreign, neither south nor north; Moreover, it is a mechanical double-clue writing method. The two clues of the * * * production party and the Kuomintang each take 2-3 pages in turn. Reading is no fun.
I think the only thing of value is a relatively grand historical perspective.
