Komatiite related information
Archaean Komatiite Discovered in Yanlingguan, Liu Yang Town, xintai city. Komatiite is an ultrabasic magma rich in high iron, magnesium and other metal elements. At present, there are only four well-known Komatiite in the world, which exist in Marburton, Pilbara and Abitibi, and one is Yanlingguan, Liu Yang Town, xintai city, China.

Comatite in Yanlingguan, Liu Yang Town is the only Archean Comatite with typical spiny structure in China. Its discovery provides strong evidence for Mount Tai to declare a geological park, which is of great guiding significance to the study of geological evolution history in China and even the world, and is a worldwide scientific research achievement.

The spiny structure of diorite in Yiyang basalt group, Hunan Province is that the hollow skeleton crystals of olivine and clinopyroxene are arranged in a matrix composed of tiny substances such as olivine, pyroxene and volcanic glass in radial, bundle, parallel, hairy and cluster forms. Clinopyroxene changes slightly or has been tremolite, chloritization, etc. And the matrix has crystallized, so it is spinifex texture illusion. The olivine skeleton crystal is 0.25-0.75 mm long and 0.025 mm wide. Clinopyroxene skeleton crystal is 0.1-0.5 mm long and 0.025-0.05 mm wide, which belongs to microscopic spiny structure.
