Ban Chao's father is Ban Biao. He was a historian and writer in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Ban Biao is knowledgeable and good at historical research. He wants to follow Sima Qian's example and write such a masterpiece as Historical Records. He later wrote more than 60 biographies. This is also the basis for Ban Gu to write Han Shu later.
Ban Gu is Ban Chao's elder brother, historian and great writer. After his father Ban Biao died, he began to write based on Biography of Historical Records, which lasted for more than 20 years. As one of the four great histories in ancient China, Hanshu has high historical value and evaluation. Not only that, Ban Gu has a high literary accomplishment and a high literary status. He wrote "Fu on Two Capitals", which is a model of Kyoto Fu and has become a work that will last forever. Therefore, he is not only a master of literature, but also a historian. But later, because of the case involving the dictatorship of General Dou Xian, he was killed in prison. At that time, Hanshu was not actually finished, but their sister Ban Zhao went on to finish Hanshu.
When Ban Chao joined the army, the border problem in the Eastern Han Dynasty was very serious. Xiongnu constantly harassed the border. Later, the Eastern Han Dynasty court decided to conquer by force, and Emperor Han Ming ordered General Dou Gu to lead the army to Tianshan Mountain. Then, at the age of 4 1, Ban Chao resolutely joined the army. Ban Chao made great contributions to the Western Regions, and more than 50 countries in the Western Regions rejoined the Han Dynasty, realizing his ambition of making contributions. Ban Chao was finally appointed Hou and was named Dingyuan Hou. Later, Ban Chao also sent Gan Ying to show Daqin of the Roman Empire at that time. Ban Chao stayed in the Western Regions for thirty-one years. He died soon after he returned to Luoyang.
