The large-scale orchestral symphony 1997 "Heaven, Earth and Man", which was carefully created to celebrate the establishment of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is a masterpiece that eulogizes the long history and splendid culture of the Chinese nation. It is co-operated by Tan Dun, a famous American composer and conductor, Yo-Yo Ma, a world-renowned cellist in China, and Jacky Cheung, a famous singer in Hong Kong. The simple and profound chimes bring the audience into the long scroll of Chinese civilization for 5,000 years. The distant and deep cello sound tells the unique interpretation of the universe by China people, and the childish and pure chorus.
