The TV series "The Old Farmer" tells the story that farmers headed by Niu Dadan and Ma have experienced 60 years of vicissitudes and finally gained a bumper harvest with hard work and wisdom since the establishment of the new China in Maixiang Village on the Yellow River.
The Old Farmer locates the story in Qilu, Shandong, hoping to show the development of farmers in that era with the group image of Shandong people.
