Wang Ji Temple on the north side of the pedestrian street in Jishan County is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It was built in the 5th year of Yuan Dynasty (1345), burned in the 16th year of Qing Daoguang (1836) and rebuilt in the 23rd year (1843), covering an area of 1080 square meters. The temple faces south and enters the courtyard layout. There are mountain gates, sacrificial halls, Hou Ji Tower, Bagua Pavilion and Ginger Hall on the central axis, and there are bell towers and drum towers on both sides. The main hall is six rooms wide, with a single eaves hanging from the top of the mountain, glazed tiles and huge stone carvings embedded in the gables on the east and west sides. The Hall of the Great Hero rests on the top of the mountain, with double eaves, three rooms wide and three rooms deep, with a third-order single bucket and surrounded by cloisters. In front of the main hall, there are 4 embossed Panlong stone pillars, 20 stone sculptures and 52 carved stone slabs to form a screen railing. Jiang _ Dian is three rooms wide, with a single eaves hanging from the top of the mountain and a tile covering the top. The Eight Diagrams Pavilion is a relic of the Yuan Dynasty, and the Fairy Hall, Hou Ji Tower, Bell Tower and Drum Tower are buildings of the Qing Dynasty.
There are eight Qing Dynasty stone tablets in the temple.
There is a gable stone carving on each side of the dedication hall. Among them, the Western Wall is the Seven Successful Ancient Poems of Wang Ji Temple written by Li Jingchun, the magistrate of Jishan County in Qing Dynasty, to rebuild Wang Ji Temple. In the beautiful and elegant words and vigorous and powerful fonts, we can feel the comfort of parents when building a public opinion field. On the east wall of Xiandian, there are eight scenic maps of Jishan Mountain, such as "Jifeng Diecui, Ancient Society Blue, Ganquan 0, Xiling Xiao Zhao and Imperial Pen Autumn Wind", which record the glorious time of the birthplace of agricultural civilization in space. It shows the once brilliant art in the form of art, and a couplet is engraved on the stone pillars before and after the main hall: Si Wen is the foundation of Tian Shu's 800-year-old Wang Ye, which led to the birth of the emperor's billions of grains; The function of sowing seeds after ploughing and toiling has lasted for hundreds of generations, and the people are full of shrines where saints worship dragons. Every stroke shows the skill of his staff, and every word shows profound connotation, showing the perfect harmony and unity of form and content.
The stone carvings on the east and west walls, together with the stone couplets in the main hall, 76 railings and 20 large stone pillars around the cloister, constitute one of the "three wonders" of Wang Ji Temple-exquisite stone carvings. One of the most amazing is the two Panlong stone pillars in front of the main building. One column is a fiery red dragon column, and the other column is the water column of Yun Teng Surge and Fish Leaping Dragonfly. With ingenious art, it shows the cultural connotation of the ancient dragon totem of the Chinese nation. On the periphery of the cloister, 52 carved stone slabs are used to form a screen railing, and landscape figures, flowers, birds and animals are carved on the railing pattern. The contents include Twenty-four Filial Pieties, Crossing the Sea with Eight Immortals, Fisherman's Farming and Reading, Crane's Happy New Year, Wen Wang's Visiting Xian, etc. Lotus flowers are carved on the stone pillars of the guardrail. There are peonies, chrysanthemums, pumpkins, monkeys, lions and figures on the watchtower, with different shapes and vivid images. The glazed tile roof is resplendent, and the carvings on the main ridge are particularly gorgeous and beautiful. There are three glazed pagodas with triple eaves in the middle of the ridge, with exquisite iron carvings at the top. Together, * * formed a picture of nine phoenix sunrise, in the air. Both sides are decorated with peony and peony leaf relief, and the top is decorated with flying horse. The dragon kisses and swallows the ridge at both ends, which is vivid and colorful. It is a masterpiece of over-glaze color products in Qing Dynasty. A hundred years ago, the sound of axes and chisels ran through the cloisters for thousands of years, giving Chinese civilization a cadence.
The second miracle of Wang Ji Temple is the gorgeous glass. Walking into Wang Ji Temple and looking up at the top of each building, you see a colorful art world. Painted tiles on the roof, flowers, horses, animals and figures on the roof, and high kisses at both ends of the main ridge. For a time, people forgot whether they were interested in the ancient China culture or wandering in the beautiful art halls!
The earliest inscription in the temple was in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and the inscription did not record the creation of the temple. However, it is enough to prove that the Ming Dynasty is also an indispensable post station for the inheritance of Hou Ji civilization. The most striking third miracle of Wang Ji Temple, the wonderful woodcut. It shows the history of walking in a static way and depicts the colorful world in a silent style, which is absolutely unique. This is a vivid three-dimensional painting. In the painting, there are millet kings holding ears of grain, farmers planting seeds, cows and horses working silently, wheelbarrows turning over, fans lifting grains, etc. The figures are not only the tribes of Hou Ji and Zhou who started agricultural civilization yesterday, but also the people who sow in spring, manage in summer, harvest in autumn and hide in winter along the agricultural civilization line paved in Hou Ji today. Therefore, this painting is not so much "hung" on the cornice in front of the temple, but rather based on a national belief. When it moves, it will have a kind of ancient and modern vibration movement. At the same time, there is an eternal topic that is hung high. This is "society" and "millet", "land" and "grain".
