Instead of Huaihua, it was called "he cheng" or "Hezhou" and "Wuxi" in ancient times. Historically, Xiangxi region belongs to Qianzhong County, Wuling County, Yuanling County, Chen Yuan Yongjing Military Reserve Road, Chen Yuan Road, Xiangxi appeasement place and Xiangxi Administrative Region.

In ancient books before Qin and Han Dynasties, Xiangxi was generally included in the concepts of Naman, Man Jing, Man Jing, Jingchu, Chuman and Sanmiao.
