First, the children of senior officials
In 684 AD, a son was born to Feng Junheng, the secretariat of Panzhou. Feng's family is not simple. His great-grandfather Feng Ang, one of the founding heroes, once controlled 18 states of Guang and Shao. Feng Junheng also wanted his son to make a difference, so he gave him a resounding name "Yuan Yi". At that time, the regime of the Tang Dynasty was in the hands of Wu Zetian, and a large number of officials who supported Li Tang's regime were demoted, and some people came to Feng Junheng's jurisdiction. We are all colleagues, so it is inevitable to walk around.
This was also peaceful, but in 694 AD, Wu Zetian got a tip-off: a group of people tried to overthrow their rule in the Lingnan Uprising. She sent spies to find out that these rebels are closely related to Feng Junheng. As a result, the next Panzhou secretariat was labeled as a traitor and asked for property.
Before the accident, Feng Cishi sent Feng to his friend Li in advance to protect his son's safety. After Feng's accident, Li was afraid of being burned to death, so he sent him to the palace and changed his name to Feng Lishi. This will neither implicate yourself nor disappoint Feng Junheng's entrustment. Feng Yun's position rose rapidly after he entered the palace, because he was a housekeeper after all, and his cultivation and rules far exceeded those of his peers. So the old eunuchs liked him very much and got the chance to get close to Wu Zetian.
At that time, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was nearly 70 years old. Seeing that Feng Lishi, who is smart and eloquent, also likes it, let him serve at his side. But things are often very helpless. Feng Lishi, who seemed to be prosperous, was implicated by his colleagues because of an accident, which angered the emperor. Wu Zetian whipped him and expelled him from the palace.
Feng Lishi, who left the palace, became poor and hungry. Seeing that he was about to be abandoned by fate, he met Gao Yanfu, an old eunuch who had served in the palace. When Gao Yanfu was in the palace, he was quite optimistic about Feng. Now, seeing that he survived, he moved his heart and accepted him as his adopted son. Feng Lishi also transformed himself into a famous Gao Lishi in the future and completed a historic turning point.
Second, the rise of Gao Lishi
Gao Lishi has the status of "Gao Yanfu's adopted son" and has the convenient conditions to make friends with powerful people in the DPRK. Later, after the activities of Wu Zetian's nephew, Emperor Wu eliminated the resentment and recalled Gao Lishi to the palace. Gao Lishi, who got a second chance, became more and more low-key. A few years later, Wu Zetian became more and more groggy. Seeing that the state power will return in the future, Gao Lishi aimed at the Li aristocrats with a developmental vision. Among many Wang Zizhong, he chose Li Longji, the king of Chu, and won at the starting line in the future.
When it comes to the change of Xuanwu Gate, many people will think of Li Shimin's coup against his younger brother. In fact, there were four coups in Xuanwumen in the Tang Dynasty, and the last three were all related to Li Longji. In these three coups, Gao Lishi has been closely following Li Longji.
Later, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty acceded to the throne and granted amnesty to the world. Gao Lishi also became a general of the right jailer, who knew how to save trouble in the back office. This is the origin of "Guo Jiangjun" in The Longest Day in Chang 'an. While serving Li Longji beside Gao Lishi, Gao Yanfu had gone to Gaozhou to raise horses. This is an excellent job, which not only avoids the treacherous court official, but also gets the fat job of not worrying about eating and drinking. After Emperor Xuanzong ascended the throne, he sent Prime Minister Yao Chong to Gaozhou to inspect Ma Zheng. This is worrying about Gao Yanfu, because he only thinks about himself in Gaozhou in recent years, selling food and grass for raising horses privately and feeding himself delicious food every day, but his war horse is skinny.
Gao Yanfu reasoning, can only rely on "son" Gao Lishi. Yao Chong went to Gao Yanfu immediately after he arrived in Gaozhou, but he didn't find it. He thought Gao Yanfu had left his horse in the wild, so he went outside the city to look for it. He saw a tall and strong figure beside a group of thin horses tied to a tree. Yao Chong stepped forward and saw Gao Lishi, the red man around the emperor, mowing the grass and feeding the horses, sweating all over. He asked, "Did you feed the horses yourself? When can such a large herd of horses be fed? " Gao Lishi said sadly, "My Lord, you don't know. My father has been ill in bed for several months. In order to cure the disease, he sold all the horse food, and it has not been cured yet. My father's illness is small, and the horse is not well raised, which affects the national war and is a big sin. " Yao Chong was deeply moved by Gao Lishi's answer. When he returned to Beijing, he spoke highly of Gao Lishi.
See here, Gao Lishi is loyal or treacherous court official can't draw a conclusion. He is more like a speculator. In fact, as a vulnerable group, they can only play it by ear in the chaotic political arena. If you have to show a clear character of loyalty and treachery, it is estimated that many little eunuchs will not survive the first five minutes of the first episode.
Third, Gao Lishi's attack.
In the first year of Kaiyuan, Prime Minister Yao Chong played Xuanzong in the Tang Dynasty, hoping that the emperor would approve the grass-roots officials he appointed. Unexpectedly, Li Longji has been leaning back in his chair to look at the roof and turning a blind eye to it. Yao Chong played several times, and so did the emperor. The prime minister panicked and left the court in a hurry. Gao Lishi couldn't help asking, "The Prime Minister is the head of the civil service. Is it disrespectful for your majesty to do so? "
Li Longji said: "If it is a national event, I naturally want to hear it, but grassroots officials can make their own decisions when appointing the Prime Minister. There is no need to ask for my advice." Gao Lishi understood the emperor's meaning and had full trust in the Prime Minister. So he went to Yao Chong's office to explain the situation. Upon hearing this, the Prime Minister immediately dismissed his worries at work and praised the emperor as a "man who knows the monarch".
In the tenth year of Kaiyuan, the envoys of Shuofang killed the leaders of ethnic minorities who surrendered to the court without authorization in order to win merits, causing riots in nine tribes on the border. Zhang was sent by the emperor to solve the problem. It was very dangerous at that time. If you are not careful, you will be killed. Even the border generals advised Zhang not to go deep into danger. Zhang said that he not only insisted on going, but also appeased all the nine border nationalities with his golden words. Such great achievements were not rewarded, because Li and Zhang, the prime minister at that time, had a holiday and falsely accused the former: colluding with the border people, spreading rumors and confusing people, and preparing to plot evil. The emperor was furious when he got the report from the Prime Minister and sent Gao Lishi to investigate. After a trip to the border, Gao Lishi understood the reason. Instead of saving himself this time, he chose to be tough with the Prime Minister. He not only reported the situation truthfully, but also tried his best to protect Zhang.
Fourth, finally.
From the above two things, we can see that Gao Lishi actually has the word "righteousness", and "flexibility" is his way of survival. In fact, eunuchs and civil servants are different. The power of civil servants is given by their own positions, and the power of eunuchs is completely given by the emperor. If the emperor is wise, there will be no adulterous eunuchs, and even eunuchs around him will not be too famous, because there is no market; If the emperor is fatuous, even self-disciplined eunuchs will gradually do evil, because the market is vast.
Teacher Lvliang showed Guo Lishi (Koryo Poetry) just right. Being pinned down by the emperor, I still have to stand up for Li Bi in desperation. He is supercilious to the Prime Minister, and he hates Zhang Xiaojing. Because he didn't do it for the emperor, but the emperor asked him to do it. Compared with countless versions of Gao Lishi, the longest day in Chang 'an is probably the most faceless and the closest to human nature.
